I think there's only 3 types at start:
- Armor (Standard)
- Armor (Ferro-Fibrous)
- Armor (Hot dogs, Armour© Hot dogs. What kinds of pilots like Armor Hot dogs? Fat ones, skinny ones, ones that climb on rocks. Tall ones chubby ones, even ones with chicken pox like hot dogs. Armour Hot dogs.....)

Blazer is 3063, so 14 years from now . . . both Ferro-Fibrous and Endo-Steel, along with almost every other tech available in 3049 (but not MASC) have been announced.

@ Logray McCall,
First off, just allow me to say welcome to the forums. I hope you find the experience as fun and enjoyable as I have. Now, to answer your question. Yes, there ARE different types of armor in the Battletech universe... but in the game, I believe there are only two types, Standard and Ferro-Fibrous. To help you perhaps get caught up to speed on the armor types and names, I've included this link to BattleTech Wiki: http://www.sarna.net.../Category:Armor .
Note: as I said, only the Ferro-Fibrous and Standard (not shown in the link) armor types are listed as being in the game at this point.
The difference between Standard armor and FF armor is simple: FF offers better protection for it's weight, but takes up more criticals that would otherwise be used for weapons, ammo, and other equipment.
Hope that helps!

Here are you armor Types, but, Only standard and Ferro-Fiberous are available for Mechs. I am not even shure if you will be able to equip Ferro right away. You may have to unlock it??
