As it stands now, when you go into Conquest the various mission objectives are there but most times you end up killing the other team. So this rewards larger more damage focused mechs. This seems strange to me when the name of the game is Conquest and not Assault.

It seems like pilots should be rewarded for capping. There should be rewards for fighting around caps in the defense and the attack. That way pilots who focus on the objectives would be rewarded while the rest of the team is duking it out.

This would give this mission mode a different feel as players try and take caps and fight over them. Anything that gives depth and diversity to the game. You shouldnt be rewarded as much for playing Assault in Conquest mode as someone who is trying to follow the spirit of the match.

This would also reward smaller mechs who arent doing the damage that Heavies and Assaults are.

of course it should i was about to start a topic on this.

it ****** me off no end. i have on more than one occasion won the game for my team by capping the whole match, no joke. just me left and im capping away. come the end of the match ive got no damage or kills so i get the lowest score on the team which is a ******* joke tbh. why bother carrying your team to victory if you actually get penalized for it in a game mode where capping is the main goal. makes no sense whatsoever

also another thing. even if your team wins through kills most of the time if people hadnt been capping then actually the team most likely would have lost by ppoints in the time it took to kill all those mechs

Sounds like a good idea, maybe your team should get a "point" for the each minute you hold a capture point. Plus a bigger bonous fror capping / helping take the point.

I 100% support this idea. I love the idea of Conquest, but hate it's current execution. On the flip-side, I also dislike the way larger maps don't work well with a base in Assault, and feel that should be adjusted as well. 90% of my games on the larger maps have turned into cap races. In Assault.

If you are in a box when it changes ownership state, you should get a cbill and xp reward. This would allow people to capture-swap, but that's a risk you'd have to take to add incentives to playing the objectives well. Perhaps the rewards could be restricted to a capture win (sort of like capture assist on Assault right now, where you can help to cap the enemy base but if you don't capture win then you don't get credit for it), but that seems needlessly harsh.

Totally agree. After maxing out 3 Jenners I found it rather annoying knowing that if I just got one saviour kill then losing would not matter... so why run around?

Could also do with an increase of total tickers needed for a Conquest win on the larger maps, to be honest - Alpine has a particular tendency to be over before any response to enemy captures can be mounted.

Also, should probably be in Assault mode too. A win condition is a win condition.
