I just had a great match where someone pointed out that I should probably take only 5 ac/2s and a bigger engine... and I know that he was right... (the match ended in a draw but it could have been a win if my build was a bit more on the practical side).

But.. but... I can't betray my principles.

If there are six slots, that means six autocannons.

Its as simple as that.
Its a can't/must conflict!

I'd stock up on coolant then.

Try machine-guns. They suck, but they are only 0.5 tons each.

If neccessary, call them "Ultra-Light Auto-Cannons".

Lately I've been running 2 AC10's, 4 MG's and 2 mL's with 6 tons of AC/10 ammo and 2 tons of MG ammo. 90 rounds of AC10 ammo gives you 900 damage available. The AC10's seem to pack a pretty heavy punch even from 900m.
XL260 makes for 71.3KPH and almost full armor. You can run a 250xl and lose a half a ton to make up for whats lost on the legs.

Here's a fun one. Done 700 damage with it in a match.
300STD engine(!) 6 MG's 9000 rounds of mg ammo and 2 LPL's.

Once I buy mine I am going to give this a try:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3e2f5c96f634203

2 UAC/5s with 175 ammo
2 Mediums
4 Machine Guns

Heat efficiency is excellent leads to great DPS, you can drop the BAP and AMS for a 250 STD if you are concerned about longevity but the extra speed and tools are nice, you can also get rid of the BAP+AMS for Medium Pulses for a slight drop in DPS and range but extra up front and on point damage.

And of course switching the UACs for ultra-competitive AC/5s are also an option. My 300XL 2 AC/5, 4 mediums CAT-K2 shreds, I'd imagine this would be fairly similar (at the expense of range profile).

Maybe I'll lower the armor on my legs and cram in some more ammo...

^ That's a build that does not take advantage of the DD's ballistic slots, and makes me feel like I wasted the KAJILLION C-bills it took to buy the DD.

True but the only way to take advantage of all the ballistic slots is with ac/2 which imo is not as effective. Its good, i have tried it, but i personally like dual ac/20 better.

2 AC/20s is overpowered to the point of being broken. It makes the game less fun for everyone but the person running it.

I am not one to say this about many things, but I find it morally reprehensible.

Ill get off my soapbox though and say, Sephlock's thread, he calls the shots lol

You are going to have an aneurysm if they ever release these, aren't you?

Ahhhh not really, an XL in a Hunchback is a death sentence. Especially since there really isnt any way to get extra free weight in the IIC to add more armor or ammo.

But being on the same team as a 2xAC/20 is brutal, they pretty much just march into any fight in progress and take the kill. I've ran a few matches with them on with my JM6-S just to try it and it wasn't even fair.

I just want dual ultra autocannon 20s. Or better yet... QUAD.

So much fun.
