So I bought the Atlas K when I first started the game and kind of abandoned it as being a little to much of a jack of all trades. However, I've gone back to it recently and am doing suprisingly well with it. I'm using 3 LL, AC20 and SRM 6 with DHS. I gotten 5 kills in a match and done up to 1,200 dmg. Anyone else tried this build? What do you all think.

AS7-D brawls better. AS7-D-DC supports your team better. AS7-RS does long range fire better.
My advice: Sell your K model and trade in for one of the above.

I did fine in my AS7-K too. So, I'd say keep it and keep going.
And as of the current patch, look to get a D-DC for your next mech for your Pilot exp.
For a third Atlas, I'd check out other threada here, but the AS7-RS was fun for me for a while, so keep it for a consideration too..

If you are actually going for a good heat efficient build, the K isn't so bad if you use the 2 AMS. Some heat efficient build philosophies don't make use of all weapon hard points anyway. 2 Ks can probably wipe out a full LRM20 volley.
For example, you can easily fit Large Laser (x3), Gauss Rifle (x1), Gauss Ammo (x3), Extra DHS (x8), and AMS (x2) + AMS Ammo (x2) into an Atlas-K with a 300 Standard Engine (you can choose to go faster with an XL).
You'll have more overall DPS than an RS with Large Laser (x4). The RS 4x LL build does around 8.48 DPS while this build will do 10.11 DPS. This build is also much more heat efficient as the RS. You probably won't shut down much once you unlock elites, if at all even if you lose track of your heat bar. It's already pretty hard to shut down on a 4xLL RS.
All I am saying is that if you are going for max hard points and huge alpha strikes, the K is certainly inferior, but there are people who go for heat efficient builds (such as the 4xLL RS) and they do not utilize all the hard points because it is not heat efficient to do so. You can do even more DPS in a K and have 2 AMS while an RS usually doesn't even have a single AMS installed due to the huge amount of heat sinks required. Can you build this with an RS or D? Sure, but you won't have 2 AMS.

2 AMS now makes you effectively immune to the amounts of Streaks a light can shoot at all but point blank range. It will also cleave down a great many LRMs. 2 Atlas Ks in a lance or a 2 Stalker 5S will be immune to missiles.

With the current game now i'd go with the K series it will decimate lrms as stated above, I rarely use my DC or RS anymore. Try the build Elizander posted its very effective and your team without AMS will love you.

I like OP's build. Have tried it myself at some point.
With the limited hardpoints, the K begs to be used more like a heavy than assault. Use ES and a big engine to be able to flank/reinforce/close in quickly. Depending on the cooling you want, consider dropping the missiles entirely. You only need 1 ton of AMS ammo -- it is there for getting to cover/killing distance, not for standing under LRM fire holding your {Richard Cameron}. My current build is 2xERLLAS, 2xMLAS, AC20, 2xAMS, 1xSRM4, ES, 350STD engine, and I do better with it than both the DDC and RS.
