For me its the Blackjack and the Awesome (especially the 8Q aka the "poopy stalker"). Hunchbacks are rare enough that I leap off my Unicorn, shove Bigfoot aside, and ignore the landing UFO just to get a good look at them.

Interestingly, Commandos don't seem to elict the same visceral response from me that Spiders do. Something about the way they run along the ground rather than whimsically floating through the air just makes them seem so... dependable.

:D.

Spiders: Doing well in a Spider usually means capping when you're the last one left alive. Most Spider pilots can't do much else of use (myself included). I've seen people do really well in them on the rare occasion, but we're talking one in 20.

Dragons: They're great fun to play, but I feel a little bad for my team when I drop in one. I don't think I've ever seen anybody do really well in a Dragon. I'm sure there are people who will point out how wrong I am here, but I just haven't seen it.

Dragons.
Also that new champion Jenner cuz most of players are inexperienced light players trying to brawl with assaults.Same for rvn-3L bcuz most ppl still think that they can run their mech trough 3 assaults and stay alive...

I HAVE noticed that Jenners tend to be Kamikazes but its not nearly as bad as the others, IMHO.

And Dragons... meh.

I regularly kill things bigger than me in my spider it's not really that hard it's just a matter of using the terrain to shield you from return fire.

For me it's trial ravens, they are so freaking slow you can hit every time if your a half decent shot.

Sniper Atlas builds

Someone takes the best brawler mech in the game, sits at the back and snipes.

Now I'm not sure how these work in 4 and 8 drops, where there is team work, however at the lower end of the ELO, where I get a chance to back seat watch, I'm pretty safe in saying that these represent the most selfish players in the match.

They are credit farmers, they never leave position to help a player in trouble, they fire into melee's damaging friend and foe alike.

I'm sure there are going to be afew low end pilots that don't do this, that are going to feel fed up with my generalisation, but every time I've sat behind the pilot in these builds its exactly what they have done, there are a few names I can't mention, but I visibly sag when they end up on my team, and feel like just sitting behind them, but then that would make me as bad as they are.

Trial 2x and 4x ravens should never be a thing, the 80kph speed plus the trial level armor/heat efficiency and the machine guns on the 4x just mean insta gimping your team. My 9m awesome runs faster and that's a fully armored death machine in comparison.

I agree, LRM Atlases are so much better.

Actually I was reading this and thinking LRM Atlases.

Let me qualify that to say that when LRM's are worth taking at all, loading them up on an Atlas isn't bad in and of itself. But having your Atlases in back tends to mean the line is weak and will be quickly overrun, at which point those LRM's become useless, if they aren't already. Besides, all 3 of the other currently available Assaults can make better missile boats, if that's what you want.

Other than that, particular load-outs might suck, but chassis-wise, it depends largely what map it's on and what else you have. For instance, being on a Alpine Conquest with only 2 fast mechs and they're both "lesser" Ravens makes my stomach drop a bit. Or those matches where every Assault you have is an Awesome.

Heeeh

I don't think I have an lrm system on mine anymore (goes look now I've said that) *coughs* paints this is not an LRM20 on the K variant.

I think lrms are a way of starting for a begining player, but I don't like them much, as I seem to pug with groups that don't hold the lock long enough, while I do run cats with them, they are not the primary weapon system for mine anymore.though its hatefull to be on the recieving end if the other team have a good light pilot or two.

I still think lrm cluster to much.

in an ideal world

LRM> poptart/sniper

Poptart/sniper> Brawler

Brawler> LRMboat

Though in the ideal world all mech above 40tonnes should be multi platforms, though in the current form, its not going to happen

People still think that? Wow that was like eons ago. Raven 3L is fun but you gotta put in your time to get good enough to run them.

I try to brawl with my Jenner! lol
Actually I try to do hit-and-run, hunter-killer on lights, and kiting; but sometimes I let myself get locked in out of habbit from playing heavies. The other day I killed a banged up Atlas, an untouched Cataphract, and helped my only remaining teammate (a Jager, I think) finish off another Atlas in a game taking it from 2v5 to 2v1 (he killed another mech before I got to him). We still lost to an ECM Commando running around with the capture accelerator and I'd assume the seismic detector because we just could not get eyes on him or retake points fast enough. It was a great game nonetheless. (I wasn't in the champion Jenner as such, but had mimicked its build to see how it was. I'm currently trying to master Jenners to get performance enhancing drugs skills on my Founders' mech.)

That one instance aside, I usually just get nuked and die when I brawl in my Jenner. Bad, me! Bad! :D
