I was > < that close to buying a double DD but picked this up instead. Seems more useful to me.

First hero mech I've purchased. Love the ballistic/energy hardpoint in the arms. Stripped the stock and slapped on a couple AC5s, Lg Pulse Laser, and Lg Laser.

Hi

One thing I wonder is, why the promo picture shows the mech with only one PPC?

The left arm has a full compliment. But the right arm is missing the big energy weapon.

And I thought the Hero Mechs would be depicted in their original loadout.

Other than that. Like the rest of the Jagers, the Firebrand uses the wrong buttons at startup (sensors red and weapons blue).
I find that quite annoying.

It would be easy to fix just switch the colors and leave the animation.

But the performance (once ERPPCs are equipped due to the short range shots and complimenting the AC2 on distance) is great.

Just my two c-bills.

Solo

I think Firebrand would've been better mech if it had all three types of loadout available. Ballistics, Energy, and Missiles. Which is something none of JagerMechs have. Plus it wouldn't be game breaking.

Perhaps something like 2 Ballistics, 3 Energy, 3 Missile which would've been more interesting loadout than 2 Ballistics and 6 Energy in my opinion.

It's all how you use the mech. I have wasted several Atlases so far, and I'm still using the default loadout. 3:)

Aggreed i have killed Atlases in my Blackjack. all in how you use it. I don't find that most of the hero mechs are much better than a good build. The extra cash is nice though.

Not every Firebrand you come across is going to have an XL. Your tears of frustration shall nourish my soul.

I am holding out for a Hero Atlas but with all this talk about Heat Scaling and Heat Damage not caused by use of the manual override I am not spending another penny until they figure out what they are going to do. I don't want to buy a nice mech with real cash only to have it nerfed with a new patch. I don't boat but I do like having 2 of the same weapons in my load outs, am I going to be penalized for having more than 1 of the same energy weapon? I don't know so I wait and save my money. I was hoping for a Hero Atlas with Jump Jets (like the one Colonel Renard has in Mechcommander 2) but with the new Jump Jet "shake" I wouldn't buy another JJ mech with C-Bills let alone MC. I mean a mech can walk up an almost 110 degree angle with no reticule movement and an M1A1 Abrams from the year 2000 can fire on the move but they don't have the technology in 3050 to keep their flying robots from firing all over the place? I know, I know my tears are delicious.

I am absolutely loving mine. Very good addition to keep me occupied while my Spiders and Blackjacks are in (hopefully temporary) retirement.

Not to mention it's a Jag, so as a Davion I've gotta love it right?

So, it's a perfect platform for building just about all of the classic canon [REDACTED] variants. I mean, it's incredibly easy to put on two AC/5's, 2 Large Lasers, and 2 MLs, and then use the extra 5 tons you get for ammo and armor. The stock [REDACTED] was infamous for being a glass cannon, as was the Jagermech that came after it, but using the Firebrand, you can rebuild the old [REDACTED] variants, like the 2 the Hanse Davion himself configured, and then "fill in the gaps" with the fact that JagerMech is a 65 tonner while the [REDACTED] was a 60 tonner.

Thanks for giving us what's basically a [REDACTED], even though it's one of the Unseen ;-)

I kinda find it pointless since every one Ive seen is the same old dual AC20 build that every other variant uses

In the current META, best hardpoints of all jagermechs.

2xERPPC
1xGR
XL280
3xGR ammo
Win.

First hero mech I felt compelled to purchase. Good hard points, good paint job. the Muromets is a decent mech also but never felt it was worth the cost till it went on sale... all in all good moves with the Firebrand and the muromets sale. If you guys make more quality hero designs with good hard point locations you will keep getting my money!

Thanks,
