It was happening before this patch.



The HSR regression might be part of the network adjustments in preparation for 12 vs. 12. In nearly every patch they mention tweaks to reduce bandwidth costs and it more than likely relates to server network load.

Hit detection is just poor right now.

Regularly seeing hits to the rear transferring damage to the front.

Regularly seeing noreg on clear hits with lasers, ballistics, and missiles.

EDITS:
This includes firing upon shut down mechs, with a lined up CT shot. So, why is the shot not registering??

Start trying to lead the target, these shots don't hit either.


VERY FRUSTRATED

I'm noticing on spectator that when a pilot turns to track the target, the tracking is not smooth, often stopping. I originally thought it was the pilot failing to track, but I'm wondering if the game is not registering the pilot's movements regularly enough.

I primarily run a YLW with stock weapons so I use the ac20 all the time. No stats to prove it, but it really feels like my shots aren't hitting as much. Average damage is definitely down since the last patch plus I'm running out of ammo more often for the same damage lvls .

Just came into the forums about this very thing. problems with hits registering from Guass and ER PPC. Game shows the hit graphics, reticule even turns red on occasion, no damage done.

Got grief off my own team dead seat pilot claiming I was a crap shot when I exclaimed via chat that hits weren't registering. Very frustrating when you're shooting at a mech that is stood still and nothing happens, yet they happily shoot you.

Have to chime in as well, as many of the shots fired at enemies just are not properly registered.
Ac´s, Gauss work quite well, but PPC/ERPPC are not registering 50% and rising, worst at ranges closer 250 meters.
And yes, I have learnt to lead targets proper, ArmA and other shooters way before that taught me to anticipate and lead targets ( note: playing computer games for 28 years now, never saw hitregistration being so weird and random; ex. for school of leading: take m16a1 in any ArmA, search enemy, engage at over 500 meters... AR´s are zeroed for 300 meters mostly, so leading has to be done properly or you just get picked apart by enemies that pinpoint you after that first shot, one has to be horrenduously precise in that game ).

Right now I am not really feeling like playing MWO because wherever I try to aim (pre-hsr aiming, lagshield-aiming, post-hsr aiming, dead-on centre) leads to tons of misses and very few properly registered hits.

Gentlemen @ PGI, please do not postpone delving into this very fundamental issue for your own game´s sake.

I'm having the same problem my con is usually between 50 and 80 depending on time of day... I've also been jerked backwards for a shot that missed on my screen originally then hit by it then jerk forward... and I also had a time when I clearly missed on my screen and hit the enemy lol

fudging hell, this hit detection is getting worse each day. I just visually hit a friggin slow raven enough times with an ac 20 and small lasers to core him twice. All I got was just over 50 damage and I think only two AC hits registered out of I don't know how many.

Not even the earlier beta was this bad, but at least back then you knew you had to lead shot way ahead to hit anything. Now I might as well roll a dice and hope I get a 6 just to score one hit.

no wonder sniping is top of the current meta when anything in brawling range fail to register hits.

adding in my two cents

I've had the hit registration work both ways, for people I shoot and people shooting me.

the most I have noticed ballistics not hitting is when I try to do 10+ pts of damage in a small window of time (multiple PPC's or an AC+PPC combo) on a single target. I have also seen very clear misses on my screen get a hit registration and also do damage to targets even if it flew right over their heads.

I have also had ballistics and other damage (lasers specifically) do damage to me without any indicators popping up or sound effects. several times now I have had PPC's or AC's fly over my head or past me as I duck in cover and yet register hits on my torso or arms, even the components that were NEVER exposed to line of fire.

hit reg is really screwy right now and needs to be looked at ASAP before launch.
