Its fun playing in my 3x LBX Ilya- my team tends to lose, but I get lots of damage out of it because I Bukkake it all over my enemies (and yes, I do try to close in when doing so won't result in this:

You are using it wrong. If you are making the whole mech glow ( and you're not hunting laser chickens), you are just using it wrong. Ignore that 1300m or whatever range listing, that's for chumps. LB10X is a close in weapon, sub 350m is it's bread and butter. Obviously a lot of people that have never used a real shotgun. It's for bird hunting and making BIG holes at close range.

I have a FLAME load out I use, LB10X and 4ML, with an XL360 and 109kph after speed tweak, I've touched over 900 damage in games, over 600 is about average. Lasers peel that armor off..... and then 10 pellets into the same location from close range.......ouch. Crit-Tastic.

Also good on those 150kph Ravens/Spiders/ Commandos. If you have trouble hitting them with pinpoint weapons, they are not as immune to the spread damage with lighter armor, aim low and takes those legs off nice.

If you wonder why the devs won't give the LBX the buff they sorely need, know that you're all partly responsible by actually using it as it is and give the devs an excuse to point at data that there are still enough players equipping it.

I have to admit, I've fallen into this trap too.

I often equip an LBX on my Misery. Not because it's good - I recognize that it's the worst ballistic in the game (the MG may be more useless, but it's only half a ton and generates no heat) - but because it's just awesome. Unfortunately, by using it I'm contributing to the overall problem. PGI sees the metrics, and is less likely to fix it.

But seriously, the LBX is *awesome*. It just sucks.

Still, my brawler Misery with LBX, SRM6, and LL's does reasonably well. It'd do better with an AC10, but whatever. Sometimes, (much like machine guns) I just need to watch LBX firing.

I use my LBX like a CIWS system on my Atlas Sniper. The idea is when the enemy close up on me, which they inevitably do, they have to contend with the LBX 10 scattershot backed up with the AC2. This combination is great, especially in the Caldera at Theta in caustic valley.
