Buying Mc As A Gift

Maybe you could set it up so you can buy it for a certain account name (not yours) or maybe a gift card type deal (or virtual internet gift card via email).
It might even be worth distributing MC cards to retail stores such as Best Buy if doing so is economically feasible. I imagine this would have to wait until MWO is making enough money to warrant the risk of investment, but it would be great! Also would allow kids under 18 to buy MC with cash for themselves.

say 2500MC plus a HunchBack for say £12
this could boost sales somewhat I'd say
but over all a good idea +1

If you're worried about players grouping up and buying MC in bulk, so they're all receiving credits at the lowest credit to dollar rate... then just charge a transaction fee which is inversely proportional to the amount of credits being moved. In other words, if I purchase 20,000 MC for $100 but I want to gift 1,250 of that to a friend ($7 value) then have it cost me an extra 150 MC to do so. I get this number by taking $7 out of $100 (7%) and multiplying that into the amount of MC that I purchased for myself. So $7 of my MC is 1,400, hence the added cost of 150 to move 1,250 credit.

And I wouldn´t worry about player´s joining and buying MC in bulk. As long as each individual MC purchase should go to a single account that can´t be abused if you buy 5000 MC as a gift, your friend gets the whole 5000 and you have to buy another 5000 for yourself). The problem only arises if you allow transference of any number of MCs. The 1250 MC packages are quite the "gift size".
And even if you let people do that (sharing the big packages), it may be good, not bad. Bulk sales is what any dealer actually wants, the whole "collective buying" thing seems to be based on that.

and if clans/units start organizing group-buys (which I imagine they would) that's still more money in the devs pockets.

Conversely, at some point a redundant security mobile authenticator system could aid in security issues. . but I also realize that's probably quite a ways out from where we are today.

I also think a package deal with 'Mechs/MC/Cockpit clutter is a great idea! MC prices are fine but maybe allow us to add items as well!
