A simple change to the math of the weapon convergence point: Move it to be several meters behind the location under the cross hairs, say, 10-20 meters (about the height of a Commando).

The result? Not all shots would impact directly on the 'mech component directly under the cross hairs. About half would, but not all. This solution would not require any added randomness and could possibly address a lot of the alpha striking, center torso destroying meta right now.

Right, should be coupled to the actual distance to target, as it would else mean that you are nearly unable to hit a very close target ^^

But yes, good and simple solution. I support this.
