Blazer is indeed in the files as a placeholder, along with Long Tom Cannon, Grenade Launcher, Sniper Cannon, Mech Mortar (1,2,4,8), and Thumper Cannon.

I remember the LT from other MW games, but as I'm not a TT player, no idea what the others are...

Of course, they may never be in the game either. I see something in there for PPC Ammo (!), which I don't see happening.

I don't recall the Grenade Launcher. The Mech Mortar is just what it sounds like - worked like LRM's to an extent, could be fired indirect with a spotter, and they ignored AMS as they are unguided. Never saw them actually used though.

Sniper and Thumper were similar to the Long Tom - mech-mounted artillery.

Clan tech might be pretty nifty but the IS did create some interesting stuff on their own especially after the clan invasion was ended. (Oh heavy guass rifle and rotary autocannon let me count the ways)

One of the only weapons, if I'm not mistaken, that takes more crits (RAC/5) for the Clan version-copied-from-IS compared to the IS version. I believe, however, that the RAC/2 are exactly the same between the two.

Also PPC Capacitor's, Light AC's, MRM's.

Plasma Rifles, Rocket Pods, Snub-Nosed PPC's, Heavy Gauss, Light Gauss, Mech Tasers... I WANTS THEM ALL.

And remember that the clans basically one-upped the IS Rotary AC's with the Hyper Accelerated Gauss. Just plain stupid, really - 40 damage per shot out to 8 hexes IIRC? Barely weighed more than an IS Gauss Rifle?

It's Hyper Assault Gauss. Anyways, the damage they deal is spread out across the target; it isn't pinpoint. That helps balance out the craziness a little bit.

I'd wait for some official announcement before speculating based off some data mining. For all we know they put it in years ago, but cut it. Or it could be some test weapon they just named "Blazer".

Or a million other reasons, none of which point to it becoming an ingame item.

Would love to slap one of these on my 5d spider and it sounds like something to work well on a 5k spider with mgs, but it all depends on the weight/crits if it ever comes in.

Are there any possible mechs in the timeline they could add in the future that come with a blazer stock?

I think it takes 4-crits. So only the 5d could carry it.

No I doubt they cut it, people already asked about the Blazer and other stuff in the files in the ATD's, and they simply hinted that if a Mech mounts it, they'll add it to the game. They didn't dismiss it out of hand. There is tons of Battle Tech content they can and will add in time.
