Elementals Can We Have Some?

just asking but is it possible to add elementals to the game ? i can see them being a type to use to harass light mechs but i can see ppl getting mad about not hitting some thing that small so we can make then uber powerfull just have them have a hardpoint for energy and or missles we can used them as forward spotters to tag the bigger mechs ...... ok thats all i can think of for now.

5 elementals to every mech is how the books balanced it :shrug:

I'd *love* to have one, despite the fact that they're barely faster than an atlas.

Seriously though. I think it would be cool, but I have a hard enough time hitting a Spider or a Commando :)

they wont do much dmg i mean really 1 laser or srm ant mutch dmg i was think u see u fire srms at it or lrms they wont have a lot of armor but i do know they will need jump jets all im thinking is using them as spotters for the larger mechs they are tiny things an airstike will probably kill them but the tactical advantage is a good 1

In MW:LL you were an elemental that could jump into vehicles and mechs. They were very fragile on their own and often couldn't take more than one shot from anything. They were useful as scouts/spotters though.

I'd want some of the vehicles before the Elementals though.

AND we haven't seen them in this timeline as yet, and the IS version don't come till much later.

Yes!!!!! I would love elementals , but we can't even get an eject animation.

hmmn vtols with srms? maybe a tank with guass rifles? still even if u could just get out of the mech and put a tag on a mech that whould be nice just dont get steped on lol but we do need elementals id love for a dev to comment on here and give a word or to for us

They don´t do much dmg per shot. .but like MeiSooHaityu already said: They are hard to hit, so they just can keep on with it. And they do have their claws, for jumping on your mech where you cant shoot them and then ripping of armour...
Won´t happen in this game, I think the devs staed they won´t think of combined arms for a while.. but it would be cool.
And not just elementals... if we could I would personally get a Harraser or Scimitar hover tank. Or a Demolisher :P Nothing says "don´t underestimate tanks" like dual turret mounted AC20s coming round a corner on river city ;)

note i realy dont want them to have the claw i was thinking about that too even tho it would be great to hook up to an alled atlis to give him some more fire power but that not pratical as u would died after getting hit with 4 med lasers so no claws but yes tank please and vtols too pick up a tank with a Gauss rifle and put him on top a tall building to snipe lol

think about the change in perspective. River city: hiding behind buildings, cars, while a 90 FREAKING TON highlander flies over your head. When running through the water you'd be totally submerged. You'd be small enough to fit inside buildings. You'd be able to jump atop buildings and go without being seen. An elemental with ECM would be ridiculous.

sadly i wasint thinking of emc not even ams the elementals are too small u have and engine armor a laser maby even a sholder missler luncher but too small for any thing real heavy but yes the idea is to run and hide behind cars small rocks if u manige to put more than 1 jump jet u might even end up on top a tall building

Top speed of 32 kph.
20 pts of Armor (doubled like mechs)
armed with a Small Laser or Machine gun
and a SRM2 rack with 1 reload.

You would have to essentially have a pack ran by AI, with maybe the "lead" Elemental an actual person and the rest just mimicking his lead. Even so the only thing going for them would be concealability, as lag shield is gone, and they are way too slow to benefit anyhow.

I can imagine LB-X would be rather useful for swatting the whole pack, as would SRMs and LRMs.

That´s why I mentioned the claw..without it they are kinda pointless. And that is enourmously usefull if you can use the terrain. Of cousre they won´t be implemented, because for Elementals and infantry to work all buildings on maps would need to get at least some interiour. Lots of work, and probably also a performancce issue.

But if we had them..imagine an enemy Stalker that doens´t even have arms tying to get rid of a Point of Elementals hanging on him. And if one of his mates tries to come to his aid.. have fun hitting the Elementals instead of the mech they cling to :)

Actually they're quite a bit slower than an Atlas (about 30 KPH max) They can jump though. The only way to make them fun in this game would be to have the player control a squad of AI Battle Armor and if he was killed, just change to the next one in that squad. It could be interesting if you could give commands and diferent skills to your squad's fighters... (actually it might be more fun than just piloting mechs...)

Combined arms in general would be fun. Tanks, VTOLs, and with a big enough map even aerospace fighters. And dropships. Instead of fighting for mining rigs in the middle of nowhere ( especially frozen city... why fight over that?! The only thig ov value there is the downed dropship on the ridge) I would love to fight over more diverse objectives... like : Take out that dropship before it can launch.

just being able to own 1 elemental whould be great all i was think was 1 elemental with a tag can be used for spotting and yes vtols would be fun put lrms or streak srms on it btw for all these to work we need voice chat realy bad and no they dont need to rework the buildings keep them as is

Iv always enjoyed combined arms scenes in BT, as central as the battletech universe is around mechs having other things affords some flavor and keeps things from becoming too stagnant. That being said elementals would not fair well in MWO: they tended to rely on surprise and numbers to jump onto mechs and take them apart, out in the open and alone against a mech was pretty much a worse case scenario for any elemental (or for that matter any form of power armor).

From a players standpoint it just wouldnt work well with how the game is set up, but if they were treated with AI I could see them being a sort of asset for community warfare. Imagine having a premade team that had a set alotment of total tonnage to work with and they could commit some of that towards non-player assets, instead of taking a Dire Wolf you downgraded to a Timberwolf and brought a star of Elementals or salamanders in its place. Commanders could order them to a certain grid to defend, attack or fallow a specific lance(star) or individual mech. (Tired of your LRM boats getting swarmed by pesky lights? Sick that star of elementals on em!)

That sort of thing could open up all kinds of options, from aerospace fighters to tank or suicide squads (IE infantry). *drifts off to fantasy land*

How are those two connected at all?

Battle armor pilots can't pilot battlemechs and vice versa.
