Motion sickness is BS in the amount of time your fuel lasts is not enough time to get motion sickness. People need to stop the flood of tears. The cause is when the inner ear feels motion that you cannot see, so unless you have your seat rigged to move with the game ypu are full of crap. Cry me a rivver

Have someone whisper into your inner ear "simulator sickness".

Motion sickness can occur solely from visual feedback, it's called Visually Induced Motion Sickness, albeit rather uncommon and in the realm of the psychosomatic afflictions.

However, motion similar to the newly introduced JJ shake is prevalent throughout the game anyway, ie running around at 150kph with a light mech on uneven terrain, getting ripped apart by ACs, missiles, etc.

It is a very interesting medical phenomenon that such motion induces motion sickness only when it actually removes an exploitable gameplay mechanic.

Highlander is my fave mech. I'm not a ppc poppy tart but i like that i can use my jj's for getting into a good position or jumping over a mech. I do not like that my main focus shakes so much it's ott so i am now using atlas and stalkers again. It's not just pop tarts it's jenners too.

Try piloting a Spider. In order to survive you have to JJ. I can no longer play it more than a couple matches without getting a bad headache, so I don't play it. It is my all time favorite mech. The amount of time JJing in that mech will drive anyone crazy with the amount of screen shake and the speed you go. A fellow spider pilot in my unit does get nauseous from playing it after a few games. Don't call BS because you haven't experienced it. Pilot a spider for a couple hours with an erppc, and really use its jump jets to full potential. You will not feel good afterwards.

so explain to me, why i could pilot a spider with all of its random herky jerky movement without any ill effects but i couldnt stand to watch someone else play a light mech in spectator mode pre patch? i dont get motion sickness from the new patch but i do get an eye strain headache from the shake now.

Yeah, 45+ alphas to a single section from 800m sure is ruining the gameplay. Glad they fixed tha. . . oh, wait.

I like how screen shake from ballistics or missiles did not give anyone a headache or motion sickness but somehow the jj shake does. This is a totally random guess but i bet most of the people getting motion sickness where also pop tarts.

Where in any post in this thread anyone states that high alpha pinpoint damage and PPC boating is not a problem ? Nowhere. Know why ? Because it is a totally unrelated problem to the JJ thing.

It's pretty easy. You are not supposed to try and aim with active JJs. Yet, you keep trying. And you do understand that the only new thing is the reticule shaking. The sreen shake and motion is - and was - prevalent throughout the game. So the only thing that changed is that you are trying to concentrate on a dot that jerks around. You can also try beating your head against a wall, the effect will be same and let me assure you, the wall is not bugged or overpowered or overnerfed.

To be fair, I really wish they removed the reticule altogether when you activated your jumpjets. That would save a lot of people the delusion that they should try and aim when they fired their weapons while jumpjetting.

I get the same thing. I'm not sure why the normal whizzing around doesn't cause it. Maybe it's the very rapid back-and-forth of the screen shake compared to the smoother motions of normal movement? It's a pity they couldn't just have the reticule shaking around without having to have the screen shake in such a dramatic fashion. Incidentally, IRL I can do multiple spins and recoveries and fly in turbulent thermals in a glider without any air sickness at all, but trying to JJ around in an MWO Spider is distinctly stomach churning.
