What possible role can the Flea fill that the Spider or Commando doesn't already do?
I can't find a decent answer for this.
Why aren't we getting a more classic light such as the Panther? Or, given the time line, the Wolfhound which just enters production on the eve of the Clan Invasion?
Can someone clue me in as to why we're getting the stupid flea?

Sometimes games are just about fun.

When MASC makes it in, you'll know why.

MASC will benefit the Spider, Jenner... just as much. Unless they allow for the Flea to have a better engine than 170, there will be no speed advantage for the 20tonner.

But I suspect the Flea will be an order of magnitude smaller than the other lights, so hitting it will be...problematic.

Because some of us play in competitive leagues where we do drops off of tonnage weight
So if we are doing a drop of 425 tons spread across 8 people having a 20 ton mech available and not to mention a 20 ton mech capable of sheer amount of weapons it has, 1 Large, 1 Flamers, 2 Small lasers or 2 meds, 2 small lasers, 1 flamer, 2 MG's, it brings a decent amount of firepower for a light mech.
It means you can free someone up from having to run a Jenner or a Raven, and put them in a Flea which allows you 15 more tons to put elsewhere. Upgrade a Dragon pilot to an Orion. Or Cataphract to a Stalker.
If your a casual player who likes to min / max then the Flea probably isn't for you.
I am excited for the Flea, there are lots of reason to use it namely the skill and prestige when you kill bigger mechs with it.

Because we are getting MASC and we only get new equipment (canon equipment - not something like seismic sensors) together with a mech that is using it and that fits into our timeline.
