What is yours and why?

Best (IMHO): Catapult C-4, 2 med pls laz, 2 SRM-6 (arti), 2 SSRM-2, XL-315, 2JJ, BAP

This mech is the most versatile one I've found to date. It can hit 80kph easily, jump, support, brawl, good in all roles, excels in some. In my current loadout, I nearly always get 450-800 damage....usually in the 500-550 range. The missile loadout is as close as we will get (for now) to 2 SSRM-4's. It doesn't run hot, but does require heat management in intense brawls. And once upon a time I was good at DFA's in it...which is the most fun maneuver in the game.

Not so fond of the other Catapults.

Fav: Jenner. All of them, and nearly any feasible loadout.

The reason I started this topic is that I'm looking at getting another, and I wonder if there's one out there I overlooked. I only have 1 Hero: the X-5. It was on sale, and it looked like a buffed Jenner JR7-D. The Ilya looks to have the potential of being the best in game, but I can't judge since I don't own one.

Cheers!

I'd say the Catapult C1 is my favorite mech variant because of its versatility as well as the aesthetics of its design.
I haven't played the C4 much, but I still find myself liking the C1 Catapult variant much more (having played it a lot more as well). I just find extra laser hardpoints on the C1 as much more versatile than the restrictive center-torso laser hardpoints on the C4.

Cataphract-4X is my favourite mech, I love the 2xAC2 + 2xAC5 or 2xAC2 + 2xUAC5 builds, dakka dakka builds. I also like the mech design, you know, sexy broad side torso or shoulder, legs that looks and walk like a chicken lol (I love mech that have legs like a chicken, especially Mad Dog (Vulture) from MW4), good armor and good speed.

Yagermech.

Mixed loadouts with Dakka, maybe a PPC and some MLAS for flavour. I just love filling mechs with dakka, both my own and then by extension, the enemy.

You can do just about everything with the different variants, although Stalkers do missiles and PPCs better.

Nothing can touch a Yager for dakka though. On an unrelated note, BRING ON THE KING CRAB.

A 4x Ultra autocannon Jagermech, definitely- with a 3x Ultra autocannon Ilya Muromets coming in as a close second.

Sneaking behind enemy lines and DAKKADAKKADAKKAing them in the back is the best thing ever.

My favourite is actually the Centurion CN9-A.

The zombie hugger build was already excellent, now with the spread tightened, its even more deadly. The mech also takes an insane amount of beating if you twist your torso to take in damage.

My fav is the Catapult K2 - just love the looks!
and most times, my loadout with 2erppc, 2lpulse and 2mgs works fairly well - just runs a little hot!

my best mech (kill-wise) is probably the X5 or YLW

IF ONLY IT COULD CARRY MORE MURDER FUEL.

Every time I run it, I laugh maniacally as I shred everything in front of me in a barely directed torrent of awesome explosions. Then I'm brought back to earth in crushing disappointment when all 4 hammers on my magnificent guns click on empty chambers.

I've tried running three, but every time I do I feel as if the gods of dakka are looking down on me in scorn, and I feel like a coward.

I dunno, I personally like taking on jagermechs, because it is usually easy to predict it's traits. It is also easy take it down if you aren't really fighting it one on one.

I pilot the Zombie Hugger centurion.

2 x AC/20 + Fast moving:
XL Engine. - Pop Sholders

2 x AC/20 + Slow
STD Engine - low ammo count, Destroy legs

3 x UAC/5
Prone to jamming - pop out, and wait for it to jam. Once jammed, move in for the kill with 18 srms + lasers.

Dakka Dakka Dakka
XL Engine.
Low ammo
I just take them head on. By the time they've taken my 2 arms and my right torso, they'll be out of ammo and **** them like a helpless girl.
