If you buy the basic colors with credits, are they unlocked only for that battlemech chassis or for all your battletech? Ie are they different then the "premium" colors.

the colors are unlocked forever. and for every mech.

and yes, the premium colors are brighter, more ..well... more premium. they are better...

Just try them out in the camo screen, you will see a difference

Basic colors are known for two things: Having a dull, not so shiny color to them and having a sort of 'dirt' like fuzz to them.

Recently did a picture here.

Basic blue legs, white center, Premium "Cobalt" top and missile doors.


And got two more comparisons being placed in a spoiler, along with an album.

Basic: Cbills only.

Cheap: Comes out to 1,500 without a sale, 750 with a sale.

Premium: Comes out to 3,000 without a sale, 1,500 with a sale. (Unless Feldgrau and Turmeric are standards, then it's 2,000 without and 1,000 with a sale.) I can't recall if they are or not.

Basic colors are "basic enough". There should be more colors...

Outside of that, you can kinda mix red and orange or blue and purple.. but the basic green is hard to mix, depending on the camo (the basic camo tends to be poor, and makes you easier to brawl against).

I'm surprised that the trial mech camo and colors aren't actually available c-bills wise for the normal player...

They are, and the color is free, becasue all trial mechs as well as the stock mechs are basic green, unless they changed it very recently

I might be thinking camo. I thought the devs said they are a bit different from regular mechs you acquire. It's like a different shade of green... I'll have to double check.

It's true. Trial mechs are camo green, the mechs you buy is basic green.
