"Destroyed" just makes more sense, considering we're piloting units and death is not exactly a result of being destroyed...
Perhaps instead, "Dead" could be reserved for any type of future 'hard-core' mode and/or connected to a type of RP / campaign mechanic // where dead /= destroyed, and dead (head-shot, or otherwise killed by heat/ammo-explosion / gotta make C.A.S.E. useful somehow
) pilots are removed from extended missions /contests - destroyed just means the 'Mech is out.

Good politically correct idea. I remember the devs saying somewhere they might incorporate an ejection mechanic as a purely cosmetic thing (kind of like MW4). But it probably is a low priority right now with launch 3-4 months away.
