When I started playing MWO, I was told that the original game mission statement was to have the stats for gear done "By the Books." To me this meant that Pirahna was using the stats from the Battletech books and implementing them. Then I hear Pirahna is tripling firing rate (roughly) because things are firing too slow. (Welcome to Battletech. Things don't fire as fast as they do in Call of Duty.) I'm like okay... Maybe they'll fully balance with everything. We have a lot of Battletech/Mechwarrior players playing. Instead of bringing that buff back down from 3 times faster to like 1.5 times faster because the new complaint was that matches were ending too fast, they double armor and heat generation. Okay, so now I need 20 heatsinks just to fire a single ppc continuously. (In Battletech, you needed 10, but they also didn't fire every 4 seconds).

I believe that Pirahna needs to start looking at a second server that runs everything at cannonical values. Make it so people's accounts can access both servers with an add-on to the login screen to choose which server you're accessing. I propose this because of the groups of people I know that won't play MWO because it runs too fast and as far as Mechwarrior/Battletech go, MWO does play way too fast.

If this has already been posted, I'm not worried because the problems need to be brought to the devs as hard and as loud as possible and by problems, I mean the real problems. Not the "This game is slower than Call of Duty, it's too slow!" crap that people kept bringing up. Welcome to a REAL game of strategy that is on its way to being ruined because people don't know Battletech/Mechwarrior. FASA and WizKids are rolling their graves right now. :)

The issue is they did not say which set of rules they would follow. The 90's Solaris Rules had cyclic times on par with the MMOs cyclic rates, but did not triple the heat thankfully.

OK.. I'm going to say this really slow and in easy to understand terms. THIS... IS... NOT... A...TT...GAME!!!!! It is an FPS based on the old TT game. They had to make allowances for fun gameplay that appeals to the masses. If you want to play TT on the inter webs go plat MW Tactics or mega mech. Recommend the latter as it is more of a direct translation of TT rules and more fun IMO

"This is Beta" doesn't answer every complaint, but it does answer this. They're trying to build the game they want, and they need testing and feedback to do that. Having them make a separate playpen just for that is a waste of their time and resources. After launch, I would love to see stock-only, canon-value, etc. modes. Until then, not so much.

No. The playerbase is small and relatively unskilled already. No need to make it worse.

However.....maybe this would get rid of a bunch of the baddies!!

IDC... Still blaming CoD players/baddies/people that complain about good things too much... Also Minimum range and heat penalties need to be added. Have some real fun then. :)

So when they said that they would NOT make this a FPS, but a sim it was just another "gotcha" moment. Thanks.. unless of course your serious here?!?

Still TT if an AC/20 weighs the same and has the same crits, does the same damage.
