Dennis de Koning. Sounds Dutch. Is he Dutch by origin?

No, although my Dad is a pure-bred Dutchman, I was born and bred in Canada-land.

Because I won't be there for the chat: ;)

Q1. What is your art background (schooling, etc.)

Q2. What is your favorite piece of software for making art? What about hardware?

Q3. What has been the hardest challenge you've faced on the project to date? And what steps did you take to overcome or address it?

Q4. There was talk that the game will allow cosmetic changes to the Mechs down the line. This can be as simple as a paint job or as advanced has new geometry (ie, Horns on an Atlas). In order to "keep the peace" with MWO's art style that was so painstakingly crafted by the art team, are you given final say on what you feel can and cannot be approved for such customizations?

Q5. MWO was stated to be a MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Do you, as Art Director, have plans on introducing visual effect elements down the line to help sell the sense of immersion in MWO. Could you tell us of some things you have planned for implementation in the near future?

Q6. Would you guys entertain the idea of selling signed MWO banners from the team? I'm fine if you leave Paul's off. I only wanted signatures from team members who provided valuable efforts towards bringing the game to fruition.

A1.answered.

A2.-I have my nose mostly in Photoshop, although I also like Sketchbook pro.
-I use a Wacom Cintiq for all my sketching and painting needs.

A3.-Scheduling the 'Mech creation pipeline. (I also play Art Lead although, thankfully, I share this roll with the team)
-Arm wrestling with Bryan over whether to do things his way or the right way (burn).

A4.-Although we are still exploring customization and to what degree it will be available, there are some factors that will not be compromised; one, for example is adding geometry that might unfairly act as a blocker or shield for protection.
-As for final say, that goes to Bryan; we don't always agree but things usually work out for the best in the end.

A5.-I will always try to implement more VFX. I have a VFX background so it's always on my radar.
-Some of this was answered in the chat.

A6.-Never thought of this, and it's not up to me, but it sounds like a good idea; especially the part about not letting Paul sign.

Thanks DDK!

I love Photoshop. Would consider myself an Intermediate to Expert in it (working towards Master). I have a Cintiq 21UX and really haven't had the time to put that thing to use as much as I like to, but I can see why artists love it so much.

i have some question for Dennis. If annyone of the Staff answer i dont have problem, hehehe....

* Mechwarrior Online think in a near future use "The Solaris Games"?
I know they need work in other thinks, but only with that many people get crazy (me included).

* MechWarrior Online think add some another vehicles in the future for players or IA ? Like Ground Support (Tanks), Air Support and the main question LAM (transformable mechs, i like very much this hehehehe...) ???

Ground Support for example: Coolant Truck 135-K, Swift Wind Scout Car, J-27 Ordance Transport Tractor, Mobile Headquarters or the Mobile Long Tom Artillery LT-MOB-25)

Air Support for example: Boomerang Spotter Plane (3025), Stuka STU-D6

* And the last one, please never use Premium munition. much of the player i talked hate that, some of us play in WoT (World of tanks) and another games who use this, its better pay for a premium weapon o vehicle. Pay for premium ammo is the worst think you can put in the game, made a poll and you can see it.

Well... thanks for read this. and good luck with the game!!!
i really wait this...
