A reticule is a woman's handbag, a reticle is what you aim with.
If it was only shaking but the reticle stayed relatively motionless (relative to the shaking that is) then you would still be able to aim accurately through the shake.

making it shake as the screen does would be fine but random jerks to whatever direction makes no sense.

Random jerks make sense because

Which part of that do you disagree with or not understand?

what do you not understand about the reticule ( note this is how you spell it ) not staying motionless and shaking on its own ( as in not the same as the screen shake in case you dont know what on its own means) Like your moving your reticule up to a target location but it is shaking the whole time back and forth so you can guess its going to hit within an area but it wont be dead on ... not just jerking that could send your shot 100m in wrong direction by shear random occurrence ...

I don't understand the part where that would actually accomplish PGI's goal of nerfing poptarters. If your crosshair stayed centered then you could still aim at the things that are shaking on your screen if you have good timing. Obviously PGI agreed because they implemented it that way.
Reticle.
Reticule.
Fair enough. Yet one is unambiguous and popular while the other is also the definition of a woman's handbag and not popular at all as you can see by the links. I'll give you the pedant point though.

n
1. (Clothing & Fashion) (in the 18th and 19th centuries) a woman's small bag or purse, usually in the form of a pouch with a drawstring and made of net, beading, brocade, etc.
2. (Physics / General Physics) a variant of reticle
[from French réticule, from Latin rēticulum reticle]
Both work.

Edit: and as i've said before "just" screen shake means a stint in no scope training and ignore it. The reticle shake is necessary to actually do anything meaningful to the aim of jump shooting. I'm for allowing the screen shake reduction on medical grounds (ie, preventing headaches some are experiencing), but the aim jitter stays.

It should be noted my spellcheck does not acknowledge the former one and instead tries to correct to the latter. And my checker ain't french.....

My guess is that you're using an Aust/Brit English dictionary, not a US English one.
Also, mine doesn't recognise either spelling... what?
