Enough is enough with having a mission with winning when enemy is destroyed. Just make a team death match so those of us who like to actually battle with our mechs don't have our game cut short by a bunch of jerks just going for a stupid challenge. I got my 20 wins without one cap and all the games were more fun and close. Keep the Conquest and Assault game types, but make a team dm for those of us who just want to fight. Thanks!

While I like playing Conquest as needs planning and some tactics. I would prefer when I play Assault game to have a battle.
VERY noticeable during current event that most Assault games I played ending cap not kills.

IF you give players a quick way to win and a deadline, then they are going to use it.

I assume the reason is because there's no way in straight-up TDM to prevent a light from just running away for 10 minutes. They need to do King of the Hill or single-base Assault. Or something.

I for one would HATE to play chase the spider for the last 10 minutes of a match, when leading 7-2. Escpecially on a map like Tourmaline. Just to have it end in a draw. Or as I had seen several times in closed beta the last survivor running to hide and shut down to save their stats.

I don't like that spider running for the base and capping out before or while a great battle is going on, but it is in the rules, so not much can be done.

I am not against a TDM mode, but I doubt I would play it as hunting somone that wants to hide doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

You have a point about the light mechs. I haven't run into that problem with them, we kill them pretty fast. I would think in TDM, the final score would still produce a winner. For instance if you have 7 kills and they have 2, you win at the end of the match. Appreciate everyone's feedback.

Of course, I want this! It would save me from shooting teammates! Who doesn't want this, doesn't everyone shoot their teammates for capping early?

They denied me my team targeting mechanic :)

I have no team mates, I keep shooting them for fast capping. No one likes me anymore. I am doomed to pug for the remainder of my days.

I just can't bring myself to shoot a pug though :)

Or you can have a voting system to surrender...

Agreed. This game definitely needs a reason to play an assault.

Or time runs down faster as 'mechs are killed. Or the boundaries shrink over time. There are a massive number of ways to take care of the problem.

Right now, we have two half-way modes that please neither crowd (the CapWarriors and the idiots) instead of one for each. It makes no sense to me. Give higher rewards for "strategic" gameplay in the objective mode and let us barbarians go at it with no distractions in team deathmatch.

when i was playing, i would see both teams just REFUSE to leave base out of fear of a back cap. Multiple 10 minute stalemates without a single shot fired.

bases are one of many things that are currently making this game anti-fun.

The problem with having TDM is that everyone is going to run the same cheesy flavor-of-the-month assault mech. There really wouldn't be a reason to play anything else. Playing a medium or light would be pointless. In assault, you're at a disadvantage without a fast mover, and you can still lose if you aren't being mindful of protecting your base.

Assault mechs make things go splat. There's your reason. Even then, you have an advantage (Tonnage and firepower) and a disadvantage (you're slow).

We played another house for a few weeks with the agreement we'd not cap. It actually sucked when either side was too patient to move into the fortified position. Usually, whoever lost patience first (mostly us) lost the game.

Either that, or we'd watch the counter tick down to nothing and tie.

*sighs* that was a long 15 minutes of drinking.

Edit: we had a weight limit we stuck by, so we had a diversity of mechs.
