Many of us who are not on teams and that includes new players get discouraged by the team sport kill teams synch dropping and wasting everyone in a minute or less. No one learns from this, no one wants to invest in the game after this happens over and over. Even a four man is formidable to newcomers but every day in musltiple games its eight and we all know how they get there. Either put a stop to it or make teams fight teams. Myself I bought into "get your freinds and team up" but out of four I brought on three left in disgust. Its difficult to get someone to spend countless hours investing in gear when they cant earn for being toasted all the time. I would think differntly if it was the occasional fluke but after many weeks I know a quick loss is coming by seeing the same names over and over and worst some just on one map over and over. I cant say what PGI wants but cannot imagaine this game surviving by the hardcore alone and soon word will spread how utterly pointless it is to start from scratch. I know I wont spend another dime on a game that doesn't invite new players well. Here they are mostly meat for the mill. I sure as hell warn my freinds now instead of inviting them. Unless they are into self abuse.

Prepare for replies that will totally ignore what you said and instead twist the discussion to make it look like you said "Get rid of teams".

LOL, I know its coming. I have no problems with teams but in this context teams should be embarrased. How great are you to be the coodinated crew destroying a bunch of solos in minutes? It must get boring having such little challenge unless your inclined to be a seriel killer.

you need to remember that new players start off with a weirdly higher ELO score according to PGI so they will be matched up against better players all part of the learning curve.

up until 3 months ago today actually i PUGGED from the 3rd day of closed Beta. we often drop in a 4 mans but never try to sync drop but with many of us playing at similar times and a similar ELO/stats two 4 man drops from the same group can fall into the same match on the same team

it happened to us but more often than not we are on opposite teams as the client can take up to 2 mins to find similar ELO players to play against.

PGI need to fix the 8 man sync drop exploit all it would take is a list on the server of people who often drop as 4 mans the server could do the rest. 8 mans should face 8 mans even some of us groups, clans, merc units agree with you. but teams are part of the game lore/canon along with CW community warfare so for now it is going to happen sorry

Thank you, I decided to stay solo until its equitable for solo mechs. Knowing how it feels to get thrashed for the sport of a group forces me not to be on the other side of that. And beyond that I still suck and need to learn. :D

Unfortunately this would mean that people would be required to have either 2 or 4 man groups, as a 3 man group would potentially leave the team 1 man down. Pugs are there to fill in that potentially odd numbered space. The matchmaker is what should be adjusted, not the team sizes.

Doesn't matter if it's 2 or 3 pre-made, they can be matched in with other 2-3 man premades to make a full team.

Uh, no, new players start off with a LOWER Elo to match them against bad players. Not sure how you managed to get that backwards.

I get the problems with fill ins and just having a preference to stay solo would help a great deal. I started this thread went back on and was team wiped out three times in a row. longest was three minutes. All new guys mostly trial mechs going in every direction on my team. None of them learned a thing in the time alloted before death past how pointless it was to try in the first place. Trying to explain seismic to one guy and by the time I typed three works it was over of course I died typing.
