Please for the love of god implement Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch modes, so that the people asking to change how Assault and/or Conquest modes work will once and for all stop!

I probably will never play DM or TDM, to be fair, because I love the dynamics of Assault and Conquest, but I don't want you to change these existing modes in the way people are asking to.

Solaris mod only. Light Class vs Light Class (etc) Deathmatch.

Those who drive camper van mechs hate deathmatch, because there is nowhere to snipe alpha strike and hide while cooling.

A death match mode would be a good way for clan players to do trials.

I can't see how a "death match" mode could possibly be a good thing, especially considering if it comes down to a Light vs. 1 or 2 Heavies/Assaults (or even slow Mediums) he can just run and hide (or just run if his teammates want to give away his position constantly) and drag out the match for the full time period, which just wastes everyone's time.

free for all would have to be divided by weight class, TDM and all in would end up a trollfest of ecm powered down mechs

Edit: and even then BAP would be required equipment and you would have mechs trying finding hidey holes and swoop in after most of the dust up happened.

Volthorne is right. Did it ever occur to you Assault haters, that the bases are cap-able FOR A PURPOSE? If capping wasn't working, and the match would only end after one team is completely dead or the time is up (AKA deathmatch), then it would be possible to TROLL the match.

You all know that young, dedicated, but a little stupid and therefore bad at steering, Spider pilot. Hey, maybe I'm talking about you...yes you! He tries to go for the cap, because he really sucks at shooting anything. So, now we get Deathmatch without caps and he can't do his favorite move, so he says to himself "crap, these pro gamers will blast me to pieces...I hate em! How can I make them angry? Ah, I know....I JUST HIDE IN THE CORNER OF ALPINE MAP AND SHUTDOWN LÖL."

So, the troll can effectively break the match by hiding and the other team has to find him to end the match, wich can take a while. Maybe more than 15 minutes?

I vote against pure deathmatch. This is not Call of Duty and the maps are too huge. Don't you get it? You people will break the game if you make the devs remove cap points. Think about it, because I know you people never did think about this before...you just make assumptions that your 'ideas' will make the game better somehow.

Solaris 7 Was something they discussed a while back (along with implementing melee combat btw) but by look of poll so far, I think it's safe to say that the majority of people wouldn't play Deathmatch. Remember it would instantly be biased towards heavy and assault mechs unless they put it in weight classes (Deathmatch Lights Only, Mediums Only etc....). Hell Solaris 7 would make a good lobby where you can just watch as mechs rip each other apart as you watch from the bar swigging a few cocktails.

I like deathmatch, solaris and team solaris as ideas.

I miss being able to choose my mech based on what the enemy was taking and have it so everyone could see what the other was in to determine if it was 'balanced'.

i like deathmatch all VS. all the most, I'd definitely play that one a lot.

This definitely needs to be in. Shouldn't take much effort to code the modes. But would probably be a lot more effort to code it on every map. Especially DM.

Assault pretty much is Team Deathmatch with a caveat (Capping) that keeps players on their toes...so I really see no point in a Team Deathmatch mode. It would be a waste of dev time to implement a game mode that's virtually identical to Assault.

However, a pure Deathmatch (i.e. All vs All) mode would be kind of interesting...and brutal. I might play that occasionally....but it sounds an awful lot like Solaris mode.

Except weight class balance is pretty poor at the moment. There are a handful of go to mechs and a whole bunch that are just there for the grind.

Here's what the light league would look like:
  • RVN-3L
  • JR7-D
  • JR7-F
  • COM-2D (maybe)

FFA will not work in this game. Why don't you people get it? CAP POINTS ARE IMPORTANT! You will break the game if you remove them, don't you people think before posting anything?
