1. Make an application for both Tablets & Computers to turn them into a command post.

A stand alone application for Tablets & a command screen for the PC would make the commanding experience more indepth, appealing and immersive. The commander could be someone form the match, or a 9th person belonging to the House/Clan/Merc battalion.

The Pro's of this should be largely self explainatory. It is also realistic in the sense to allow a 9th person to collaborate since many lances recieve their orders and navigation points from a command post. This would relieve some stress from the lance commanders so they can focus on what they need to do.

(Though the Team Commander should still be able to use a tablet so the battlegrid isn't obstructing their screen half the match.)

2. Implement a Ping and Intel reponse system for Lance Commanders.

I say Lance Commanders because if the entire team can do it; it becomes a bit of a novelty. This way, more people are opt to take the initiative.

Since the command post can't actually see the fight; they have the option of using UAV's to watch a 360 degree low/medium quality visual of what is going on; this will make UAV's more entertaining and will bypass the CryEngines limitation of Picture in Picture.

Also for intel since the command post can't watch the entire battle, the command pings and intel will tell him/her where the enemies are and direction of travel; for a better sense on how to command the team in order to respond to the situation. The commander should also have access to the live text/audio chat.

To help pay for this development, it would be fair to make it a premium feature only; since it will not obstruct the F2P experience you are trying to provide.

Thankyou & please consider my suggestion PGI.

Sincerely,

Interesting idea, especially given the amount of tablet support we're seeing for games at E3. I don't think this should be a premium service however; that will simply limit an already small pool of players (MWO is a niche game + must own tablet + must want to command).

The commander would need to have abilities beyond issuing orders however (and the UAVs aren't enough), such as deploying air and artillery strikes or jamming enemy communications.

Makes sense; but I'm thinking on PGI's behalf as far as payment goes; but yes. it would be rather costly; how ever that's also why I present the option of commanding via the computer.

The UAV option I was thinking in terms of being launched by mech's on the battlefield since they aren't very interesting atm. Think of the UAV scene in the Mechwarrior Announcement, and give it value for users to carry the module to assist their commander. Alternatively too, satellite/radar and air support could be launched by the commander.

:) the possibilities are endless
