So I've decided to get a Catapult to run an LRM boat on and was wondering what would be the best build to do this. I'm leaning towards a CPLT-C1 with twin LRM20+artemis, 3medlasers and a tag with a standard engine to fill the role. Anyone out there have some experience LRMing in a Catapult?

C1 is kinda better suited for the 2 PPC/2SSRM setup in a way but works nicely as intended. TAG is basically unnecessary really
C4 LRM/SRM/ML never hurts
A1 I haven't gotten out of my A1 for 5 days now... 2 ALRM15s and 4SSRMs plus BAP

I think I've seen a few of the A1 builds you mentioned. They do seem intriguing. How much ammo are you running for each weapon type?

A C1 with LRM15s or LRM20s is a very nice LRM platform.
Tag is definitely useful and while not as mandatory as it used to be, if you are running a significant number of LRMs, you should run TAG too.
As far as engine, there is really no reason not to use an XL in a Catapult. It has the hardest to hit side torsos in the game. Even if all it gets you is speed and some extra ammo, go for the XL.
My personal LRM Catapult is an A1 with 2xLRM15 and 4xSSRM2 +BAP. Works pretty well, but I sure miss TAG sometimes.

4 LRM and 2 SSRM (24 and 25 salvos) I've only run out of ammo like uhhhhh twice in the last 5 days. I really want to say once but I'm going with twice just in case.
I spend quite a bit of my time explaining to other Catapults how they are doing it wrong. Typically, by splattering them with missile fire and generally harassing them

Just finished killing two in fact the C1 setup you were looking at and a C4 who was boating LRMs even worse.

Agreeing with 80Bit here... except for the TAG part. From what I've seen it doesn't improve things that much and distracts the pilot. They are often waving that damn stupid red beam around trying for a "hit" before firing. Since it only has a 1 sec decay... MEH! Better uses for the space IMHO like ohhh ML.
80Bit however is not a newb so if he can make the TAG work for him well then... excellent.

I was wondering about the XL engines. If I can get a few extra tons I might switch over those medium lasers to med pulse or grab some heat sinks and ammo. Used to have a splat cat a1 so I kinda wanted to try a different catapult this time.

I have a C4 with 2 LRM-15s, 2SSRMs and 2MLs. Works pretty nice for me. C1 does the job well too. My C1 is a brawler with 2LLs, 2MLs and 2SSRMs
