Sounds like you always play in premades, because then your post would make some sense. As for people not playing in premades, basically everything you said is wrong. And last but not least, poptarts quitting because they can't poptart anymore can only be good for the game.
Nope, I almost always play solo. Further I said nothing about people quitting because they could not pop tart - most of my team quit playing long before the JJ shake was implemented. The reasons they quit are many but for the most part it boils down to how things are being done. As for being wrong, well I guess thats a matter of opinion. All the vocals here on the forum complained that PPCs were to weak and so the heat got dropped. Now many of these same people want them nerfed. Then there were the people who wanted SRMs nerfed because of splat cats, now how many threads do I see with people wanting them buffed again. Then lets not forget all the current threads on how the anti boating changes aren't going to work when they haven't even seen yet exactly how this is all going to work. "Gee I don't exactly know what your going to do but it isn't going to work." And the very sad part about this is these are the people who are pushing the direction this game is headed - and a number of these don't even play the game anymore by their own admission, yet they come here and say how they think things should be. Most people don't come to the forums much but the ones that do are these guys. No wonder this game is in such a tail spin.
Complain all you want about pop tarting but it was the only thing that was really keeping the Stalkers and dual AC 20 rides in check. None of the jumpers had an unreasonable alpha. The biggest I saw was 45 and compaired to a 60 point alpha stalker, thats nothing. You can build all kinds of heavies and assaults that can do that kind of damage. Congratulations, you pushed them out of jumpers and into stalkers - is there really any difference. Right now I see teams dropping with 4 stalkers and then just forming firing lines waiting for something to show it's face. I see far more people dying now due to this without ever getting a shot off back at them then there was before the JJ shake was implemented. I warned you this would happen.
Why are we even bothering trying to balance weapons at this time. This has been foolish. They keep having to revisit this over and over again every time they add something to the game and this is wasting time and resources that could be providing new content to the game - and trust me lack of new content is a very big rub with many people. If you doubt this think back to host state rewind, ECM, coolant flush, double heat sinks and a number of other things. It makes far more sense to get your content out and THEN worry about getting the balance right. People aren't quitting because they took something away - most of the competant players could care less one way or another - they are quitting out of boredom.
