I get that they are 2 separate games but i like the way War Thunder does it. You get your stuff back when you leave and can get right back to playing.

What would you hate more. Having to wait for your mech being in game. Or half your team disconnecting every other game as you start up?
"Mech in game" is not there as a feature to be fun, it's there to prevent exploiting and afk farming, or disgruntled rage quitting.
For example:
People would start dropping matches if they disagreed with the playstyle of the others. "Oh no you're capping the base? I'm out" or "Oh no you're not capping the base, I'm out", or "Oh no you brought a Hunchback, I'm out".

move as soon as you power up, and twist, there are only a few maps where this is an issue, and as far as i know games are only 15 mins long.
you could also stay in game a provide support as a spotter, calling out targets and 'support your team to a win'

1: I'm not sure what you are doing wrong considering there is no map with Direct line of site from one base to another.
2: matches are only a maximum of 15 minutes and rarely do you see pug drops going for a full 15 minutes, i would venture and say 10 minutes at the most.
3: Sit in a game, watch other people play who dont get magically head capped in the first seconds of the game and maybe learn what you are doing wrong so you can live longer then you apparently are.

Just mentioned this in another thread. Been sniped just like that several times mostly on forest but been in the back on river city and been whacked just like that. Was told its some kind of hack but it is unevering as hell when you just launch and bang your center torso or head is critical. No one to date has resonably explained how this is possible past its some graphics card hack.

Funny you should say that, I was capping in my DDC and a Hunchie followed me and stood outside the cap and the other team capped and he refused to cap with me so we lost by a sliver. I shot him in the head the last second, does that make me a bad person?

NO.
It was specifically implemented to curb farming.

You can snipe a player at the docks spawn point from the dropship spawn point on river city.
The thermal vision change has curbed that but it can still be done.
