If so, how do you do with them?

i do, on my HGN 733C and my stalker 3f... they are mainly for anti-light defense, but i also use them for additional damage in a close combat situation or when i need to cooldown a bit... and they do great for that purpose... i am currently working on my first true MWO video, if its done, you might see my setups in action here and there :)

The advantage is they always go for the centre unlike srms which spread the damage all over, getting a clean hit with a ppc on a light can be tricky which is why SSRM is worth taking.

I don't use them on the atlases or Stalkers (I want max dmg).

I use them on the Highlander 732, mainly for lights, but also for CT hits when the armor is stripped. Sometimes I'll switch to them just to allow the mech to cool down and keep harassing.

Use them on my DDC mostly against fast-movers but also in a brawl against heavier chassis when I need to cool off.

Thats another good point SSRM's can be fired constantly with little impact to larger mechs and let you dps when firing your bigger guns would shut you down.

IMO they are the only type of SRM worth a missile hardpoint at the moment so I use them on all weights and against all weights.

I don't mount them specifically to use against other heavies and assaults, I run large lasers or ppcs and AC/20 or gauss on those for that purpose. But yeah If I'm fighting another assault why wouldn't I also fire the ssrm's at them? More damage to the CT of your opponent is never a bad thing.

I do a Dragon 1n light hunter with 2 ssrm2, erlaser, lbx10, BAP, adv seismic & 330xl. Super fun playing hide and seek with ECM scouts! Sometimes I'll change it up with an ac10, or erppc as well.

This. At the moment I use them on some builds because normal SRMs are worthless at the current damage levels and the CT damage of streaks slightly offsets the puny punch. When the SSRM changes take effect I won't be using streaks on any mech because they'll be a total waste of tonnage.

Use them for anti-light defense and for shots when using energy weapons might shut me down.

I put them on my mechs for the purpose of nailing other mechs, especially lights. But I don't withhold fire just because the target is big, every little bit helps.
