It's become blinding obvious to me that even if your semi succefully commanding a team, you're likely to win 50% more games.

Personally I like to group assaults and heavilly armored units to alpha lance and have them engage or guard vital areas, then have quicker support units on beta lance to watch blind spots, flank and perform reaction maneuvers.

It usually works pretty well when most of the team listens and doesn't run passed command points, and adds a sense of duty and team work. It's very rewarding.

But it's a little unnerving when you have the less skilled players rage saying "Quite hiding the team!" like I just had happen on tourmaline. It is a difficult map to command units on; and if your not working as a group, using cover to avoid sniper fire (really if you are patient, the enemy gets impatient every time and starts moving forward one or two units at a time for easy picking.

The merrit of that match: just as I claimed, the enemy got impatient and moved around our obstacles to confront us and we obliterated them as expected.

The downside, our raven and cicada didn't stick together and got killed; and we lost to base cap. It's a little difficult to keep track of everyone.

With that said; I think commanding a team usually pays off succesfully and is very rewarding.

It's a thinking mans shooter. WORK AS A TEAM :) Even if you're just in pubs.

If you need someone who'll follow and second, I'll gladly give my time.

Daisu Saikoro in game. Of Clan Diamond Shark / Merc Corp Diamond Shiver. On DS chatterweb and American Comstar.

People who try to command should be appreciated and followed. An organized team > unorganized team (pre-made or otherwise) any day.

Typically I run an Atlas Sniper; I totally agree that the fire group works more effectively if someone takes command; if that someone is you, I know that I will be fighting for a just cause.

I have seen a few commander types recently and always follow orders as best i can - its awesome and it works.

It is kinda hard work to do and thankless half the time though. I need to start doing it more if people are actually following orders i gave up months ago when i got people insulting me for losses and being jerks.
