The Nordic Fox Mercenary Company is a just-over company strength unit I had created in the original Battletech board game, and as such is a unit I'd like to transfer and recruit for in the MWO universe.

At this point, however I have not figured out how to register and officially recruit for a merc company.

I have a unit logo, unit regulations and the like but have yet to officially create as mentioned before. Any aid in this would be appreciated, and I'd be happy to speak to any potentials during the process.

Stay posted! I hope to resolve this soon, this site has not specified how company creation is done.

If you are interested in joining this diverse unit, can help with recruiting or have other questions/comments please also feel free to email me at nordicfoxmercenarycompany@gmail.com

Unit canon:

-Formed just before the FedCom civil war, the unit was created with the idea that a mercenary unit should not be locked down to working in the IS only, and that mercenary units should not always be an expendable force of guns-for-hire to simply release on enemies or guard oil depots and the like. NFMC is a unit designed to fight like an organised military unit, with mixed unit tactics and support. In the battletech version, the NFMC even possesses a battlecruiser, which is used as the primary transport for the unit and as orbital fire-support. The fact that the group can afford a warship is due only to dedication and years of work transferring c-bills and establishing trade and salvage in the IS, venturing even into clan space to attempt barter (when possible, that is) and salvage of forgotten establishments, abandoned fortifications and derelict vessels. The unit values trained mechwarriors as priority personnel, but maintains a good number of aerospace pilots, light armor assets and infantry.

The unit, with all these assets to pay for requires constant contracting, lest finances fall into chaos and the unit fall apart. So far, this has not been an issue through careful administration, and recruiting of only loyal soldiers and pilots with good natured intentions. Though it stands as a mercenary company in practice, it is not a unit that hires soldiers who fight for profit alone.

"...After all a soldier who fights only because you pay him to will easily betray you if someone else pays them more to see their way. I prefer soldiers with merit and values; a trooper who fights for what he believes in fights many times harder than someone who is simply paid to." -Col. Don Carroll, previous company second-in-command and administration staff, KIA in a fight with a Clan Jade Falcon expeditionary unit.

Give it some thought, we'd be glad to have you!

Yes, yes I am sir. Do you know if we are able to construct companies at this time? (guilds)? I doubted the beta would allow it, but I saw in the FAQ that it is possible, perhaps on official release.

And thanks! I'm happy with the unit, it's unique, and to be honest, I got tired of joining canon units, wanted to find something new, make something that nobody already knows. Additionally, if one thinks about the size of the known galaxy in the 30th century, a unit of 'unknowns' wouldn't really be impossible! Haha

So far, loving this.

AFAIK, you can't build guilds/units yet, just premade groups on the fly as people are logged in.

Either way, I'm interested.

Been playing these cames since Crescent Hawk's in an old Trash80. Have a Battletech Center nearby that I still go to play in Tesla Pods a couple times a month.
Typically prefer long range heavies. LRM boats or gausscats. ESPECIALLY gausscats - blowing components off at 700m is a special kinda delicious.

fling me an invite in client or an message on here.

Sweet. As far as I'm aware, there's not an official roster as yet, right? I've been friending people as a means of recruitment thus far, seems like a manageable way to keep track of people for now.

Yes! We'll accept as many people as want to join. Now that things are calmer, and the game is doing better I'll be getting serious about recruiting and maintaining this unit.

Just crazy times man! But this will be good. I appreciate your interest!

Still figuring out the whole MWO unit... Not to mention there's no real 'group support' while in beta. But shoot me an email if you're still interested! nordicfoxmercenarycompany@gmail.com
