Some complain about the PvE mode that CW is and lets be honest in a coordinated premade group its very brainless battle.
And attacking as a pug is alos quie a pointless thing. They either rush and die or skirmish anyways.
How about a semi skirmish mode called siege mode.
In the siege mode, the attackers have to take out 24 mechs of the defenders first before they can get to the main objective.
but with the orbital cannon this makes not muchs sense.
But the basic scenario is: The battle is about a military facility requiring destruction or cunquest to dominate this part of the planet.
Attackers have to take out the defenders to weaken the defenders. Once they lost a specific amount fo mechs, the defenders by "story" have to open another gate to the base to allow reinforcements to assist them. Yet this open gate also allows the attackers to attack the base directly any the main objective behind it. May that be a mechhangar for example.
This way no brianless PvE rushing is involved, because that scenario will require a PvP involvement on both sides before the objective can be done.
Or probably as Russ wanted, this can be the counterattack mode? The defenders of the counter attack, after claiming the Orbital cannon now have established a temporary base. And to reclaim the part of this planet, the attackers have to take out a speific amount of mechs before entering end destroying that temprary base.
in the end, the base scenario is:
Take out X mechs to get objective access.
Then take out the objective.
What story you put behind it is quite a matter of whatever we want to make out of it..
