OK, let's see who can pilot a bad build in the best possible way! Let's have some fun with this!
Inspiration was the SDR-5D thread down yonder, which turned out to be a blast.

1) Post your submission for an interesting or difficult or just plain BAD build (see guidelines below)
2) I'll pick a range of interesting ones (someone has to) and we'll vote on them
3) The winner is the build we will all build and pilot
4) Post the game-end screenshot (or vid link) of your best-of-ten match

Any takers?

Submission Guidelines:
- Mechs of any base tonnage allowed
- Must use all available tonnage
- Must have a minimum damage of 10
- Must not have redundant non-weapon systems (IE: multiple tags)
- Leave module slots empty
- Must be purchasable with C-Bills
- Other stuff that occurs to me once submissions start coming in and messing with the rules above. ;)

GO!

Difficult: BJ-1X

It's fast but it's range is almost non-existent and it's heat WILL be a problem.

Look upon this train wreck and despair, for it brings with it the pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth:
The Terribad

Pilot this and be damned.

I disobeyed a rule here because I used the Spider 5D as my base model so feel free to disregard this one.

Ladies and gentlemen, its bigger, it's slower, It can fire for eternity, but that doesn't matter because you'll die long before you scratch anyones paint anyway, I present - The Trebuchet 5D

Balanced uberness. This mech could be in a TRO TBT-7K

It's got a LRM10 and a Narc to make it OP. In the torso is a LB10X dynamo of damage. It devastates infantry too with a small pulse laser, machinegun and flamer.

The triple fail: (LBX-10's + Flamer's + machinegun's)

So that I and most others will never see it? Leave it in GD, mods.

Oh... rules updated. No MC-only mechs. Only fair.

I've actually done pretty well with this build a couple of times on small maps but usually it crashes and burns because it is slow and the weapon loadout really isn't very good at any range. It is kind of fun to shoot a double barreled shotgun at lights though.

I think at a glance people miss the fact that the torsos that are filled with ammo have their armor on backwards, too.

Serious?

Go try it in game. Variations of this are actually a pretty reasonable builds for the 2D. There's a 2D thread in the Mech & Loadout forum at the moment and this build is getting some love in there. I've tried it and it was reasonably fun and not hard at all to do damage with (just got to find those fools not running AMS. :( )

While I applaud your effort and think the "Tons of heatsinks for a 'mech that doesn't need them" was a brilliant design choice, it breaks the 10-point alpha rule set forth in the OP.

In fact, I found it inspiring. I present the sequel to the The Terribad, the Cool Runnings. Named because it is both the coolest 'mech there is, and you best be running because you have no front armor.

EDIT: We should actually vote on these, with the prize being the top 3 have to be played for an amazing video montage.

EDIT 2: I rebalanced the Cool Runnings to have exactly 100% heat efficiency to not violate the rules about redundant part. :(

ROFL "Feel the rhythm, feel the ride, get up close, you're still gonna die! COOOOOOL RUNNINGS!"

I know I broke the rules, but I feel like it's totally in the spirit of the competition. :(
