Pgi Stop "balancing" Things That Don't Need To Be Changed.

Poll: Do you like PGI's current direction of nerfing before balancing matchmaking and game modes? (45 member(s) have cast votes)

Please read my post before answering. Do you think PGI is taking the correct path by creating nerfs to weapons and boating before addressing the imbalances coming from lack of appropriate matchmaking and game modes?

  1. Yes. PGI needs to address matchmaking and game modes, then re-assess feedback, then re-assess weapons. (13 votes [28.89%] - View)

These epically long tirades and temper-tantrums are boring. All of this can be easily summed up in one sentence, so here we go:

Matchmaking should have some separation by means of skill barriers or brackets, high heat drawbacks and penalties need to be introduced, and tonnage limits need to be put in place.

That's all there is really. No fuss, no mess.

And that with an unbiased poll would be worth voting on. :)

And yet, neither your approach nor the OP's will make any difference at all.

pin point damage is part of the mechwarrior franchise though, it's part of the game... four ppc's are good to only a certain extent, Boating a weapon amplifies that weapons advantages as well as disadvantages. Take that into account, and you can easily kill a 4 ppc mech at close range.... I've tried a 4 ppc build, it's a horrible build for me because the poor heat efficiency and ineffectiveness at close range with ppc's. But at least leave me with the freedom to make and use my mech without additional drawbacks :)

That's only due to technical limitations and generic FPS crowd pleasing. In BattleTech Lore you are lucky to even hit with all 4 of your PPCs even if you are standing still and took time to aim, nevermind all hitting the same spot. it is due to stupidly easy Alphas that mechs are falling so easily and PGI was forced to double the armor value and reduce many mech's cockpit size (yet mechs are still dying too fast).

With current technology PGI can be more faithful to the whole mech weapon convergence issue.

Oh god please shut up with your worry mongering.

The game is already shot to hell if we can't play it without everyone just running around in broken loadouts. If we can't test/play with at least some form of a working system then people will stop playing altogether, I wonder how PGI will release new content and get reliable feedback then?

I would be happy to see ELO removed if they introduced Tonnage Limits.

well, I don't think they are nerfing the right way, but it's a start and boating needed a nerf, w/e the game modes we have
