Who's bright idea was to raise the heat of an underused weapon to above PPC lvls?
And the best part is they compensated with 0.6 damage. Whopeeee.

So a 6% damage increase for a 12% heat increase.
You read that right, that's a nerf on an underused weapon. Good job PGI.

Seriously though, what bright minds come up with these "solutions"?

edit for all the white knights stating "but now pulse lasers are normalized and can be balanced easier" :
If something was nerfed more than it was buffed, NO BALANCED ADJUSTMENT IS GOING TO BUFF IT.
Buffing the LPL later WILL MAKE THIS NERF REDUNDANT.
Got that into your tiny skulls? Good, proceed with swinging your claymore.

My guess is they need performance data. I don't understand why 'normalizing' it provides any benefit, but that's what they claim.

I'll have to try it on my K2 when I get home (It is a 2 PPC, 2 LPLaser build). I will have to see how badly it affects it. Maybe PGI was concerned about the rise in 5LPLaser boats, however if that was the case, you would think PPCs would be addressed.

Who knows what their reasoning was *shrug*.

for the LPl, yes its a nerf but read the command chair post, they brought all pulses in line. So the right question is not "who did this?" but "why did you do it?"

I expect some kind of revamp or at least global tweak to pulse lasers which needs this change first.

Changing LPL from niche to not viable doesn't take much effort to find out.

That begs the question. What "data" do they need now that they haven't gotten before nerfing it?
It was underused then, now it's going to be extinct. That's some useful data.

Maybe they fear that the combo of buffed MGs and Flamers would be too much with the mighty LPL, which outclass all other energy weapons.
