With the new patch: after a few (3-4) matches my frame rate is dropping from high 80s to low 30s slide show. Ping is normal for me. Have had the same settings for months without change. Advertised Comcrap connection 50mbit... yeah right... runs 25 to 35mbit on average. Seattle, WA area. Ping 90-110 Average.

Also one note memory usage is way up for running MWO... 1.8GB or larger before it really starts to tank on me. Use to take 20-30 games before that happened.

Spoiler

I can't even finish a match. I've been booted after about 10 to 20 seconds EVERY SINGLE GAME! You guys BROKE something. Was looking forward to driving a Quickdraw!

I notice my GTX670's fan speeding up tremendously as soon as I stand near a dead smoking (black smoke) mech and look at it.

The smoke animation seems pretty heavy on the GPU. As soon as I look away, frames are back to 60 (Vsync is on so its capped there). Looking at the smoke goes down to 45fps with loud fan noise.

i7 3770K
16GB RAM
1920*1200 everything on max in MWO.

How did you turn off smoke?

-Hi since the previous patch (Not this one) , the game seems to use a lot more Bandwidth per match compared to before the previous patch. I have a 4g cellular connection that's quite expensive ($50 per 3GB Telstra 4G). I have noticed I reach my limit a lot faster. Today I tested it by playing for about 2 hours from 2pm to 4pm Sydney time. 140MB for 2 hours of gaming, Is this normal

-Update: Before this 300-400 MB would last me a day. Other Info: Sometimes get Session Lost message- before this happens I see mechs running on the spot,
-When HSR was first introduced it worked fantastic Now only OK (not as good).
-Off the Point - After upgrading CPU from Core 2 Duo E8500 (Clocked to 3.5GHz) to Core i7 the game has stopped hitching freezing on Caustic. Otherwise the game Rocks keep stuff coming. Thanks.

can't wait for the hotfix. I do not understand how you managed to give us a patch that should be about 50% bandwidth fixes and then forget to give us the bandwidth optimizations. Oh well, just hope you can get it right for the hotfix. Honestly PGI, if this kind of thing keeps up, you will be better off making your schedule a little less aggressive and push the launch date back instead of giving us patches that require emergency hot fixes every single time. All of these emergency hotfixes just slow you down.

my ping continues to be stuck around 50ms vs pre-2-3 patches ago when it was a solid 10-20ms. sometimes the game just freezes like it's about to crash, then it comes back. other times massive warping and jumping around.

I even changed my IP address with my ISP to be sure someone wasnt DDOSing me, no improvements.

Hotfix June 20th

From 650 down to around 170-180. Maybe some occasional spikes to around 190.
As good as before the May 21st patch.

Got 2 "Session lost" in 5 games since patch...
Never happend before...
Much rubber banding, too...
And no, not a connection speed problem, 32MBit should be enough (hoping...)
And some SSH sessions in background are still active, so no ISP reconnect or the like...

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
  • really really bad. i noticed the changed ppc graphics, and a changed caustic valley. no more improvments. but a freaking lagging slideshow instead the flowing gameplay before. turning graphics down dont help. be4: start game> wait 10-15 secs> hear betty. now ? start game> see loading screen for 10-20 secs> see a black window around the same time> get as the last ingame where everones from 200- 500 metres away from me. best one was hearing betty and see the fireworks on forest in the middle of the map sametime^^(means my team was fighting the enemy and i was still listening the reactor getting online .._=.=
  • disconnects, never had before

  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes
  • see above.+ slideshow, now normal aiming most time impossible, rubberbanding. normalizes shortly sometimes, without getting ever the same speed/gameflow as be4 patch
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • changed? no. 1080P at60 Hzz, full graphics (tweaked user cfg like by crysis 2 to machine limits).; changed for testing 1080P high graphics, no aa> no change by that way, 11. juni patch makes a lil rubberbanding some times, but happens really raw times.

  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
  • tell me how to see now. feeled: between 5-36. be4: tested stable 36-60 (vsync)
  • System specs (You can include them in a [spoiler]
  • six core amd t1090T at 3.6 Ghz stable.
  • 16 GB (4x4gb DC corsair kit w clocked timings/ 1t CR) ddr3 ram
  • 1gb 5870ati at stable 900/1300 clock
  • Gigabyte fx board
  • system only ssd, mwo on a 7200rpm seagate barracuda

  • [ /spoiler])
  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location
  • 50 Mbit dsl wire/ger
why have you guys set up the game specs so high? my pings, after jumping for 2 months between116-180, are now mostly back at 118ms. but the game lames/lags. so you must have changed :

A the graphic req. through new graphics, or through bad typed new game code (shader instrc. or so, dont know that things deeply. cause some say smoke makes big fps drop as heavy battle does also)
bad but should be easy 2 fix.

B have increased the traffic between host and client, but the 118 ping speak against, where others say it is so.
you have the tools to monitor it (ingamewatch realtime and so on from host side/dev)

C you really have turned out to test all matters/ways of game, means how far you can go till players jump out of mwo. and how high you can set the reqs for gaming (realcash, good gaming rig for best results, needed buy of ingame "items" to win, etc) and still players join mwo, so that you maximize your income and that of intel and so on. and sink the player amount. maybe kick of the laming and all time crying founders/ "hardcore´lers")?
cause right now its still a beta. you got the founders money.

dont be mad at me, i was a loyal mw warrior to this game (not pgi) after seeing this stunning "ingame gameplay graphics demo" now 5 years ago. and i hoped. and i pray. i read old books to get the flavour back. i tried smurfys for hours and days to make canon config. buy in game with 1st mech (illya), be a founder wasnt possible. played and put many spare reallife hours into this. was loyal as long as i could. but after the last 4 patches it is getting really annoying to stay a loyal bondsman to this game. many not so good things experienced to my own being ingame.
Not ppc war or such player behaviour things. Bad dev decions. srm. lpl. orion. ui. cw. hitboxes. broken hsr... (remind that fanta4 song mfg..^^)
why you do this? you loved battletech? really? wanna see a good 3-man developing show in a beloved gametype (4X genre)? google and play stardrive. you got millions. he not. and he´s farther than you by game stat.
hate me or not, i was giving you my heart and was willing to give my bucks for a released game. and you kill with much effort all my hope.
i tender 2 option C

Played only 3-4 matches so far. Deliberately equipped lasers to test.

Ping was staying pretty solid around 227-230 ish. Very, very good compared to the 300 plus I was getting.

Laser hit reg seems much better. Not perfect, still seems to be a tiny bit of lag at the start of the beam but I'd say this is at least 80% of the way back to normal, if not more. It might be I'm looking for problems now, and noticing problems that already existed.

About to run a few SRM matches to test that hit reg as well. Will see how it goes but very hopeful so far!!

Update: Well, it's hard to tell if you hit with SRMs as you might look like you do no damage anyway, as they are so weak right now

However, yes I did hit with them pretty much as could be expected. Again, maybe a little fuzzy around the edges of mechs, sometimes registers, sometimes doesn't a tiny bit.

Vastly, vastly improved across the board for me since the hot fix though. Very nice, game is back to be playable again !

My ping actually went up from an average of around 45-50 to around 60. any time a mech gets legged it starts rubber banding something fierce.

Yeah... with F9 broken, High Ping rates, and just bad latency, something new is now affecting something old. I'm guessing mech Registration info is using a lot of bandwith. too bad really.

1 minute to drop, 90 ping, and one drop

not too bad, but it really is hard to tell. GL with a fix on this.

last update:
After playing about 20 games yesterday, and 3 today, im really sorrow for this game.

being able to see 4-5! match result screens from 20 games i started is annoying. at best time 3 mechs were "ingame" same time...
first game today? what do you think? it was 20 secs long^^ second about 3 min. last about 10-20sec.

even set up options to all med doesnt help. think something other is broken, cause gameplay is stuttering even if my pc says: thats all dude? and the i-net check tells all is fine. taskmanager tells round 60%usage on all cores. ram is between 1,8 and 3,x GB used. me think from my side technically all is fine. like it was roughly a year. but now...?

tell me how to withstand all that flaming and have faith in you? i was a long time on your side, but i cant blend out the reality. please dont see me as a troll, but looking the game going down more and more after you got that much chances (LL content wasnt bad, really fine ideas there to be used after they closed for you, looking all the old games to avoid bad gameplay and make things work good, the chance of having a allplayers game with Combined forces, skills and honour leveling gameplay by specialize on a mech, i cant count that much things i have written down to paper by thinking about how improve gameplay. and im a mudhead. i cant understand why battletechfounders like you cant see/ think it. you are a big Devteam. but you never make a shine to advance that really good preconditions for a great mw online game. and the some good ideas that are out here. please tell me why? i really cant understand, even with having in mind what LL have done without that big moneypot and manpower of yours.

The game is currently unplayable in its current state. Hitboxes are inaccurate, damage spreads inaccurately, HSR is off by miles, SSRMs only hit CT, and many mech hitboxes do not take damage much of the time (Namely AS7, QKD, RVN, CN9.).

I hope the July 2nd patch is a real banger.

I'm having some real problems hitting things travelling faster than 60kph - looks like a hit on my screen, but no red crosshair.

Makes it damn near impossible to hit a light mech, or even try to hit what you want to hit.

I sit on anything between 300 - 450 ping. unfortunately my location makes it difficult to get any less
