I was looking for a while to find the right place to post this and I can't find anyplace better suited than this patch feedback. So this is my feedback, and please understand that this is coming from someone who grew up playing battletech and played many mech related video games over the years. I am a fan off MWO, and I recognize that it is in beta and I fully support this work in progress. That is why I am giving this feedback.
Firstly let me just reiterate that I think the game is great, you can hardly really tell that the game is in beta. But there are some pretty big issues that ought to be considered by the game makers.
I guess the first part would have to be the initiation into the game. The lack of tutorial or training mode leaves new players without any direction as to how to play the game successfully or any kind of guidelines for interacting with other players. People coming into this game for the first time may not even be familiar with previous mechwarrior games,
The real problem really is a lack of organization and strategy or almost any kind of tangible co-operation. The outcome is usually a one sided match with a bunch of mechs running around in circles like confused chickens as they get blown up. New players are not entirely to blame however, and the real culprit is a lack of in game voip. I stress in game, because while MWO have apparently suggested the fan base use C3, the mechwarrior channels seem to be empty while match after match of MWO play onwards. It is important to give players in this sort of game in game communications because other players cannot always be relied upon to sign up for 3rd party content.
My last concern is more general and I do not suggest any solutions as I'm sure the issue of game balancing will be an ongoing one. I simply ask that game developers are thorough in their attempts to balance the game for fairness and functionality. I just played a match where there were 3 catapults on my team and absolutely no light mechs. Mechwarrior is a complicated game and catapults need light mechs to spot their targets for them in order to be successful. Details like this are small, but important and I beg that game developers take the time to consider such seemingly trivial things.
Thankyou for your consideration

Most prearranged groups are communicating via TeamSpeak. MWO and C3 have a coop running, but it is not yet integrated into the game and i doubt it ever will be.

Well, the problem is that if the game is going to be commercially viable, you can't rely on everyone forming groups and using outside chat programs. New players will be instantly handicapped and that's not very smart for luring and maintaining customers. Maybe you could get away with that a few years ago, but not today, with a game this strategically complicated.

No, you cannot rely on external SELF-INITIATED GROUPMAKING in a standalone F2P product designed to entice to "hardcore" Battletech/Mechwarrior fans, but SURVIVE off standard internet trolls.
FORTUNATELY, Community Warfare should be a magic bullet for a lot of the problems in MWO. Either that or it will be the "magic" bullet into the head of this ailing horse and we can all move onto another decade of waiting for Mechwarrior.
