Always loved the hate for "Team death match" mode.. cuz it makes NO SENSE what-so-ever...
part of the community wants to cap for no other reason than to **** people off.. this is akin to griefing.
part of the community wants to cap cuz its "tactical"... ok.. not my choice but its part of the game I guess..
part of the community plays conquest cuz they love to cap and destroy mechs so that meets 2 needs..
yet there is no mode for just a plain and simple destroy all mechs... theres also not a single good reason to NOT have this mode.
People offer up king of the hill, this isnt team death match though.. its king of the hill... while a potentially viable mode that I would also support.. its not the team death match mode I suggested.
then there is attack and defend.. also a good viable game mode, I would support this aswell... but its STILL not the team death match mode I suggested...
just becuse a game mode is offered up doesnt make it a one or the other decision... setting game modes is not a monumental feat of coding either, infact, ... its more of a cut and paste and tweak a few numerics done in a few hours kinda thing...
currently we have 2 modes of tired busted *** game modes we have all played far too many times... wouldnt it be cool to have not 2 or 3 game modes to choose from.. but more like 5 or 6? I dont know about the rest of you but I like variety...
Toss in a multi-que feature like M.A.G. had and wow .. you got instant new life to a game...
notice the check boxes for modes desired? also notice the xp multiplier? the more modes selected, the higher the multiplier.. neat huh?
also important to note is in this screenie theres no server population, but if looking at individual ques for mag on the mode selection screen it says how many players are currently playing each mode...
Now I do understand to implement that part would mean PGI would have to give us that "sensitive" information.. but I think its more of they are "sensitive" about that information rather than it being actual "sensitive" information...
and no, this doesnt have to be community warfare or replace it either... its just a multiplayer multi-que system... but it could very easily be integrated into CW later when and if we ever actually see it... at this point I'm very skeptical of anything PGI offers up cuz they have constantly said one thing then done another and in some cases have outright lied to us.
most evidence has been "[redacted]" but we all know its happened.
but the multi-que idea and extra game modes idea are pretty cool and reasonable... I mean its no 250,000$ map or anything... but I'm sure it could be pulled off pretty easily and cheaply...
and yes this post is dripping with sarcasim even though the ideals and fundaments are infact sound ones.
Edit: to clarify, the numbers under the game modes on this screenie arent how many are playing that mode currently, those numbers are how many are qued currently for the game type waiting for the launch of said game type...
The number of people actually playing those game types are on another page
