Ok gentlemen, I have finally got my K2 to just about where I want it, with one little dilema.
There are a few matches in which I have found myself running out of ac5 ammo. I am currently maxed out on weight and I need to sacrifice something. This is my current configuration
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2d0adb79f2ecdb5
Here is an alternate, which would ensure I do not run out of ammo, but at the expense of some armor
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...991ff02997b06f0
So the question is, do I take the conservative mech with more armor, and aim more carefully or do I go for the more aggressive build and risk the lower protection.
Thanks
K2 Loadout Dilema

Personally, I'd do neither.
I see where you're going, ER PPCs for massive heat, and then the low heat AC5s for backups. Thing is AC5s are too heavy to be used as backup weapons like this. You need to pick either the PPCs or the ACs as you don't really have the tonnage to use both.
If you really want to keep the AC/5s, drop the PPCs down to LLs (or ER LLs) and make a 65-ton Rifleman. That would give you better heat efficiency, 6 tons of ammo and let you put that extra ton of armour back on.

shadow is right, chose your main weapon, you don't have enough tonnage for both. LL will give you 4 tons to play with, that could be an upgrade to UAC5s and two more tons on ammo or more ammo and more armor or more heatsinks. or two ML for extra punch.
If you want to keep the PPCs then go that route right, drop the ACs and invest in armor, heatsinks and some ML or LL as backup.

ER-PPC/LL-Cat, more speed, nearly max armor and 19 DHS:

I had the same delima. I went with 2LLasers, 2MLasers, and 2 AC5s (3 tons ammo) and a XL260 or XL265 (don't remember).
I use the lasers as a primary and the 2 AC5s as a follow up sort of weapon (why I don't worry about the lack of ammo). It works well for me. I'd give that a try and see if you like it.
P.S. Basically though, Shadow is right.

You're better off with the Catapult-K3 build. A tested a proven build of which I received the coveted 20 k/d with on this chassis during the initial rounds of testing the very first 'champion' builds posted. And to top it off, it is an EXACT duplicate of a record sheet.
CPLT-K3
Record Sheet: http://goodsects.got...te/pdf/3909.pdf
The MG's are still poo on this build, but you can keep firing the ER PPC's with relative impunity. The entire build is built around boating enough DHS to fire them constantly. Back when PPC's could fire every 2.5 seconds like AC/10's, it was incredibly OP. But since they fire every 4 seconds now, the heat efficiency is quite nice.
Take the Record Sheet Challenge Mech™ today.

thanks for the feedback guys. I will stick with the ppc's and consider other backup weaponry
