Ok, so Niko Snow stated that 3rd person is going to be in the game.

The Question is HOW it should be implemented.
I don't Like the Idea of either BUT THIS POST is to point out potential balance problems.

Any Suggested Ideas outside of mine, are still contributing.
Do not Rant for or Against it.

That's not what this Thread is for.

We're Trying to Find Creative Answers To COMPLEX problems.

Currently, the Developers solution is to lock it into Normal mode and have 'Hardcore' Mode be the only one to have a locked 1st person point of View and Contribute to Community Warfare.

So here comes the problems.Posted Image
Here is what we have currently, Barely, 30 Degrees using Free lock. The Enemy mech is a Cyclops
Conversely...

We have a Gladiator being SRM'd by a Dasher.
As you can clearly, see you can actually See 180 degrees free looking to the side. Not a Small Advantage at all...
This is problem #1 please offer solutions Not Rants

Here we have the Back Cam, Which is shaped differently for EVERY Mech in Mercs, But EVERY Mech has it. Notice it's about a 30 Degree Window Compared to...

Again 180 Degrees minus maybe 20 or 15 degrees or so because the Cyclops is in the middle of Picture.
This is problem #2
How do we Fix this when Fully Turned Mech 3pv Mech can see 180 Degrees Behind it?
(yes I know it's not fully turned but the Results are the same, Don't believe me? Try it in the same game. It will be the same Result)

So I'm not of Fan of 3rd person point of View.
As you can see.
But I do think it should be in the game to a small degree.
Why? Because people want to see their paint on their Mechs.

Should it be in Community Warfare?
NO Way In Hell & NOT in Tournaments Either (If they're serious Tournaments)
Too much of an Advantage Period
you can literally track the Beams and Bolt and Missiles from where they came from, instead of having a blind spot, Plus the Cockpits make the Mechs feel different, and some Cockpits are Obviously better than others, This will force players to Use Free look, Which Adds Variety and coolness to the game in-my-honest-opinion.

So why should it stay?

ART, and Entertainment value

It's a lot easier for people to advertise their Fighting Group when they lobby up and Make screenshots of their Lances Mech in 3rd person point of view, Plus it Adds to the cool factor and increases the Value of the Mech Paint. Currently, the only way to see your Mech's Burned up Smoking Corpse is when the paint isn't shining and you're Angry and Dead.

Not Everyone has photoshop
Not Everyone Can Draw
But Everyone Can Contribute Screenshots for their Fighting Group, Even if they are staged.
It should be implemented WITH the lobby system.
However, the 3 person Point of View should be a selectable option, and should not Affect ELO & Stats.

I would argue that in 'Normal' Mode the player should be able to see their mech until the Cadet bonus Runs out.
Also 3 Person Point of View could have two modes, Artistic and Semi-Competitive.
Artistic will allow the full 180* to the Turned and Behind the Mech looking at the Mech's Front as in Mechwarrior Mercs.
Competitive would limit the Players Perspective to the Degree of Sight they can see in the Free look Cockpit. It's Still Much Better and Advantageous compared 1 Point of View and should not be allowed in Community Warfare At all.

But then again, I also believe PGI should be promoting community Made Maps by doing MC Map Prizes
MC for Well Built Community Made Maps.

Again Contribute Ideas, No Rants please.

[Summary] How Should 3person point of View be implemented, now that it's been stated it's going to stay? Any Ideas on how to fix these problems? What are your Ideas for it's PROPER implementation?

(Try to Keep in open mind about this, but Thoughtful Ideas are better than none)
