scaling for small-medium mechs?

I was running a jump sniping Quickdraw last night, and had no trouble hitting targets at long range with PPC's.
It's more difficult, but it's by no means game breaking.
And folks who cried that it made them motion sick are full of ****.

forget the motion sickness. what about a reduction for light and medium mechs they were never poptarts.
or do we hate poptarts so much we blindly ignore the other casualties

This one. Poptats need to burn in the deepest recesses of hell.

If you aren't a pop sniper, then the JJ shake doesn't even affect you.. so why do you care about it?

But, no, I haven't noticed any reduction, nor do the patch notes speak of one.

MW:LL is way more realistic since they make the cockpit shake more, and pull the crosshair upwards as if you are being forced down into your seat.

Hey no one said there wouldn't be further tweaks to the mechanic. I never played MW:LL but I saw someone's link with video of the JJ's and it did seem better than what we have now. The MWO mechanic seems fairly reactionary to public opinion, so time probably hasn't been spent making it all that great. Perhaps, though, time will eventually be spent on just that.

Disagreed. I believe a small number of people are probably genuinely affected.
I get nauseous playing FPSers that use the Unreal engine. No idea why, but I do.
(Zero problem with MWO or its JJs though.)

First of all, #MakeEloPublic
Second of all, Laser lights use JJs all the time, and they were never overpowered.
Here's one of my matches that I played during the latest Leaderboard challenge. It should show you how important JJs were to many of us non-poptarts. http://www.twitch.tv...smash/c/2359479

Sorry but It did and does give me migraines. I have pretty much stopped playing since then. And honestly it says a lot about you to say people like me are full of ****.

Oh, I have seen my fair share of lights poptarting with single PPCs pre-patch. If you're in front of the enemy you shouldn't have any trouble hitting him even while jumping.

Yea. my Jenner D has no problems jumping and hitting targets as well, but see that's all short range. It's the long range people who complain because they still want to do it.

Tons of folks get motion sick from playing video games. That's not the point in dispute.
The idea that you could play MWO without any issues, but that suddenly the slight shake caused by JJ's could be making you sick, is silly. It's just something folks are claiming to try and bolster their case.
And folks can say that it's true all they want, and that I'm being insensitive. I don't care. I THINK THEY ARE LYING.

oh i dunno maybe if you were a jenner for example, you'd want to be able to shoot while jump jetting over/by a mech like you used to be able to?
but i guess people were so buthurt by the poptarts they are ignoring both the imbalance to lighter mechs and that some people are getting ill playing the game.

So.. you are in fact trying to jump snipe.
But like I said, I am still able to do this.. it's just harder. But at close range, it's not even that hard. It's mainly landing long max range shots while in mid air that require you to change a lot of your gameplay.
Either way though, I would not expect this to be changed back. I think it's resulted in exactly the effect that was intended. Firing weapons mid-air is supposed to be significantly harder than firing them while on the ground.
And the new system makes it exactly that...harder, although not impossible by any stretch of the imagination.

no... not jump sniping. its a fly-by... like others have posted.
like spiders and jenners do. For some reason he thinks poptarting is the only thing jump jets do.
they have said multiple times they would tune it based on mech weight. i want to see them deliver on that. especially since the system was only designed to punish poptarts, but also unintentionally punishes other builds (namely jumping light mechs)

What exactly do you think the difference is here?
Are you qualifying "pop-tarting" as just going straight up and down? Because doing it while moving isn't a different thing.. it's just the correct way to do it. Going straight up and down was basically just how terrible players did it (which made them easy targets to hit).

no man jump sniping* <--- notice the word sniping. is what poptarting means. and it is what its been defined as by the community in multiple iterations of the mechwarrior game.
Light mechs with jump jets do not snipe. Jump sniping was what the devs intended to punish, as it was the problem in the meta at the time. Jumping lights was never the problem nor the intended target of the jump jet nerf.
