Sadly i can't really get myself to pilot a mech which loses 7 of its 9 weapons as soon as someone only thinks of targeting the huge hunch.

It has like what, 40 front armor to protect it?
Takes 2 average damage alphas to make this mech almost useless. Doesn't really look good if you take into consideration that:
1) noone with half decent aim will miss the huge hunch. ever.
2) 80kph WAY too slow to dodge anything.

I don't think i disarmed any mech more often (or faster) than the hunchback.
A 4 ppc boat (or 2ppc/gauss) will need ~ 4 seconds to disarm this mech. (i'm counting 2 splas as disarmed)
Torsotwisting/smart maneuvering won't change this. Noone will miss the unmissable hunch. If someone does, it is probably his first day playing the game.

Don't get me wrong, i love the hunchback. I just like the way this little guy looks. But if there are good pilots on the enemy team, they will make you suffer for choosing him.

I normally make those good enemy pilots choose between the Atlas D-DC, the Misery Stalker, or my hunch when I fight.

The only may to make it work due to limited range would be to load up an XL engine. The thing about having medium lasers with a STD is that even if you do lose the hunch you have 2ML worth of firepower and can just sit on the edge of a fight poking away.

Just going to disagree with this statement here. With the low engine rating cap on the Hunchback, there's more than enough tonnage for a Standard 260 (max engine rating) with max armour and a full weapon rack, and extra heat sinks.

I do agree though that it's too slow just to boat SPL's. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to do it with a decent-high number of SPL's without being a trash heap and/or kite bait.
