ok i'm not sure if it's jump jet envy or something, but for whatever reason whenever i take my Quickdraw out for a spin, people aim for my legs... alot. i just played 4 matches and 2 of those i died from loss of both legs.

hell i even beefed up my leg armor and people still persist in blowing my kneecaps off.
was there some "Quickdraw Haters" meeting that i missed?

That's why you put your jets in your torso if you can.

Certain mechs I aim for the legs first for a number of reasons i.e. its a light and it'll slow the little bas**rd (edit:wow didn't think that one would be a banned word) down enough for me to blow it to hell, its got a lot of ammo in the legs, or its a build I recognize that had to skimp on armor to fit all its got which usually are the legs.

Unless a pilot feathers their landing, jj mechs will cause damage to their own legs. The more aggresive a pilot, the faster they peel off their own armor. Aiming at legs lets one take advantage of the free damage.

Dracol is right. You have got to be careful coming down...save a little juice for the landing. Another thing that contributes to it is that when someone aims for your CT, and you start to lift off, their sights are now set on your legs. If they don't adjust their shot, your legs are the target. It's just something you have to take into account piloting a JJ capable mech.

they were getting shot off even when i wasn't jumping. i would intentionally not jump at all once a fight started and i still felt like i had targets painted on my legs. although i do run a pretty fast Quickdraw. maybe i get the light mech treatment "leg and kill"?

I had this issue aswell the other night every game, I've had to put more armour on the legs of my quickdraw than I have on my stalker.

I think people hope you have not upped the quickdraws weak armour in the mechlab.

The legs of the Quickdraw, (IMHO) are probably the easiest of all the chassis to hit. They are very long, very square and nice and blocky at the top of the hips, meaning that shots to the junk will either hit the CT or the legs. The max armour is also low enough that going for the legs is a viable alternative to the CT.

I often run way less than stock armour on my Yagers, and can count on one hand the number of times I've been legged. I run max on my quick draws and get legged like there's a secret legging tournament on.

TLDR; Always aim for the junk.

I think its a mix of everything, its got a similar ability to the centurion to keep fighting until its a stick combined with Huge legs mean that often the most efficient way of killing them is simply crippling them, similar to any mech who's strength is manoeuvrability over fire-power or armour.
