A: Re-implement convergence, with variable convergence speed for weapon (the bigger the slower) and location (fastest in arms).

B: Set the convergence distance to the range of the currently locked target, default to range-under-reticle if no target is locked.

C: Potentially have a faster or slower convergence as a mech quirk.

D: ???

E: Profit!

F: If you're worrying about profitable noobs not getting it, put an indicator on the reticule hud. Grey-yellow-orange-red as convergence improves. It's now about as documented as every other feature.

The convergence system worked just fine, and it would stop the problems associated with the excessive capabilities of low-skill-floor pinpoint alpha weapons. This would also mean that the Pinpoint elite skill isn't wasted.

It's also at least partially based on pre-existing code, meaning it will take a fraction of the time and cost to implement as any of the wild (some less wild, some insane) ideas floating around to adjust the inflated benefits of using the easiest weapons in the game.
