The Word of Atlai was a splinter faction of MW:O players that was created out of a conservative backlash against the removal of MWO's mystical and religious aspects (Hula girls).
The Atlai-ists initially took refuge in the General Forums, but were able to move most of their operations to Closed BETA after they conquered it in 3049.
They perpetrated the Great Poll of Schism-ing, which ended with the defeat of the Atlasees in the fall of 3049 and the reintegration of the remaining Atlai-ists back into MW:O (because now they owned it).
Their fear was great, their loss terrible.
Go Team Atlai!

There.
Argue with THAT!
You are correct that there was only one "Atlas" in mythology, and that saying "Atlas Mechs" would be correct as well, but there are more than one "Atlas" mech, so, since their names are "Atlas" as well, the you could call them Atlases too and be correct.

Ravens have a much cooler plural term.
"Murder."
Nope. "Murder" is for Crows.
According to https://en.wikipedia...ollective_nouns the collective noun for Ravens is an "Unkindness".

Ok, it may be correct in MWO speak, but not in English.

That is perfectly correct! But it is also not the only way to say it.
For example, saying "two Iowa-class battleships" would be perfectly correct. But one could also say "two Iowas". Adding the modifier denoting class is perfectly acceptable in all cases.
However, if one were to pluralize the word "Atlas", and just that word, and if one wanted to be a language pedant (which I always love) by following the pluralization rules of the word's original language, one should say "Atlantes", not Atlai.
And obviously, as Atlas has been appropriated into English, using English's pluralization rules is perfectly acceptable (Atlases), if not nearly as fun.
The irony of all this, is that no one says Cicadae! Why have my little bugs not been given the same attention? They deserve pretentiousness as much as any Atlas!
(Screw it, I'm going to stick with English and Spanish. Classical languages have way too many wacky pluralization rules.)

Right now it is living up to its rather mediocre reputation (compared to Ravens, Spiders, Blackjacks, anything really) and could do with a little buff (accelleration/decelleration?)
