Are you playing the same game as me? LRM's are the most balanced they've been in months. They're finally a reasonable weapon to take as a secondary while also being a good choice as a primary weapon.

I think LRMs hit Ct way too much

but really?

I would quit because of PPCs before LRMs

What? Is this guy serious? LRM's are possibly in their most "balanced" state ever.

If you have an organized group of LRMs with a good spotter you can decimate the enemy. Lrm's damage is in a good spot but they need to spread the damage a bit more. PPCs are all over the place

LOL WUT? You must not remember LRMpocalypse. LRMs are perfectly fair. Just really, they're one of the few weapons that feels spot on balance wise.

People are shocked by this, according to lots of people if something kills them it's OP. Unless they use it as well, then all the whiners need to Learn2Play or Adapt and Overcome!

They need a little more damage and a lot less focus on the CT. They should take about 150-175% of the time they do now to kill you, but you should be armor-less all over by the time that happens.

Here's a clue for those of you getting cored out real fast-like by LRM's:

The missiles act like one giant flying pane of glass. Treat incoming LRM's like a two dimensional wall flying at you with more missiles clustered in the center then spreading out towards the edge. If you're staring straight ahead when that LRM wall hits you, guess what's going to take the brunt of the attack? That's right, your CT.

So what do you do about this? Torso twist!! I know, I know, you hear this excuse a lot, but in the case of LRM's it really, genuinely does work, since each "missile" doesn't track its own individual hit-location. If you put your left shoulder into that wall of LRM's, most of them are going to slam against your left arm and left torso. Few, if any, will hit your CT (unless you're a dongwalker like a Stalker or a Catapult).

TL;DR: Torso twist actually does work against LRM's. Oh, and so does cover.

Edit:

For reference, I only have 3 out of my 14 mechs have LRM's equipped. The most I have on a single mech is one of my Atlases, with an LRM20 and an LRM15. I know this above information due to fighting AGAINST lrm boats. Torso twisting has saved my life a number of times when I get caught out in the open against the LRM storm.

LOL... oh you aren't joking.

I think LRMs are pretty close to what they should be actually. Getting hit by 20-40 shouldn't feel like getting hit by a nuke but should hurt. Keep under cover and dodge out of the way.

This comes from someone that doesn't use LRMs but gets hit plenty.

They hit CT too much, they don't deal crap for damage, and unless you have target decay or bring a spotter it's increasingly frustrating to even get a target to fire on with the current peek+shoot meta

I've seen people melt under LRM barrages, but that's from multiple mechs, barrages from PPC boats can do the same thing without standing in the open or needing a spotter.

Well if your to poor to put on an AMS you could always stand behind large objects! I heard that, secretly, the missiles cant go through big things like rocks.

I am curious, besides LRMs, are those pesky commandos still destroying the game for you?

why does it matter?

You are still ELO "balanced" across the team. High ELO doesn't mean you only drop with High Elo (except in 8 man, where you can control who you drop with).

All public ELO will do is give the Epeen brigade one more thing to delude themselves over, another stat that is abused and generally not as representative of skill as people think. (Since most of the stats that go into making it are so easy to game)

I got epic melted by LRMs today. Had 2 LRM60 Stalkers get my one legged mech dead to rights with TAG at about 300 meters. I dissolved like butter, lol.

The only way Elo will ever be relevant to true skill in this game is if they introduce 1v1. Otherwise it's pretty meaningless with all the other variables that it doesn't take into consideration.
