From all the videos Ive watched, the faster moving mechs animations seemed a little jerky. I hope they will smooth it out.

I agree, but it's also a heavy peice of metal with Myomer as muscle, so I wouldn't expect that smooth of movement imo. Mainly because of the weight, it's going to smash the ground, not just glide with light feet and such like a ninja.

EDIT: I took another look at the video, and yea it does seem a bit jaggid. But hey, look at Battlefield 3's E3 tank demo, the loader picks up and puts the shell into the turret at like 5 frames a second. I think it's just a Beta thing, maybe something that will be fixed upon release.

They're four story tall 100 ton death machines, not ballerinas.

Hmm i agree however hopefully they'll get more tuned closer to launch. The most noticeable is the jenner which looks like its gliding.

Edit: They nailed the walking animation in the 2009 reveal (Yes I know its not the same game anymore) as you can see, each step the hammer take feels "heavy".

Mechs don't use hydraulics. They use Myomer bundles, which are kind of like muscles. It's one of the fundamental technologies that makes mechs possible.

Yea, I had a feeling I got something wrong there...correcting that now.

Still beta so would not base your view of the videos yet. Sure it needs some improvements but most games do.

Wrong. Read the TRO's they do in fact reference hydraulics in reference to the movments of mechs, I do recall the 3025 TRO mentioning in the blackjack's entry that the other mechs defendnding a particularly cold planet possibly against redjack ryan; could not be used during a battle because their hydraulics were not working due to the extreme cold so the blackjacks had to win the day.

Your mech animation is clunky... try this. I remember when AC-5 was the king of headshots.

If you're referring to the Battle History section in the TRO, you would be incorrect. I've got it right here as a matter of fact,

"The myth of the Blackjack's inferiority received a blow in 3022, however, when the infamous Kurita Captain Mercer Ravannion attempted to use his 'horde' tactics against an under-strength Davion garrison on the ice world of Xhosha VII. Ravannion theorized that 'Mech warfare could be carried out by swarms of ultra-light Stingers and Wasps to attack and overwhelm the heavier but numerically inferior defending 'Mechs. Ravannion's attempts to prove his theories were uniformly disastrous, but his confidence in them was unshakeable. The tiny garrison on Xhosha would suffer for his obsession.

The Xhosha defense unit consisted of two companies of Draconis March Militia, equipped mostly with Locusts and Blackjacks. When hordes of Stingers and Wasps burst from DropShips in what Ravannion hoped was an irresistible wave, they caught the Militia by surprise. Freezing temperatures affected the performance of 'Mech equipment on both sides, particularly the defenders' Locusts."

No mention anywhere of hydraulics, just that the cold affected the performance of 'Mechs on both sides.

And there's a lot of inaccuracies in TRO3025.
