Played the pen and paper game in the late 80s, but really got hooked the first time I played the pod version of the game at the BattleTech Center in Chicago. I believe that that was 1989 or 1990.

Started on the pen and paper back in 1989 and got into the video games the following year. It is something like an old friend. I drift from it for a bit but always come back.

Yeah, I'm a pen and paper player to start also. My first video game for the franchize was MW2 I believe. I have to admit the concept art is absolutely fantastic & I have yet to see Mech art this good (Sorry Mr Chaffee... RESPECT!)

Pen and Paper with my brother and his friend started it, then started the computer game series with MW2:Mercs, got into competitive/league play on that and stayed with the same group of people through MW3/4/4mercs....then kinda drifted out for a while, but this game has definitely brought me back.

Now I just need a new computer =P

It's too bad I only started with MW4. Now I wish I'd gotten in sooner. ;)

I was hooked on BT and MW after reading the novels as a teen. BattleTech: Crescent Hawks Inception was my first game experience in the universe, followed by MW 2, 3, and 4.

I was 15 I played Mechwarrior 1 at my friends house I think it was 1992. It was damn awesome. I wish they would remake the games exactly like they were but with updated models.

... Before there was a "Mechwarrior". Started with TableTop after seeing the SNES game in a magazine. I never found a copy of the game locally so it sort of drifted to the side of my brain for awhile. However, the 'Mechs had captured my interest with that magazine but I did not really know about it as a whole universe until the 4th Edition Box came out and a FLGS just happened to have it on the counter to add it to their inventory. One of my fastest impulse purchases ever and most fond =3

For "Mechwarrior" proper; I wanted MW2 for PC but at the time my machine was not powerful enough. Come MW3 though, I was gaming on my PC more and readily accepted the game into my life with open arms and an itchy trigger finger.

BattleTech when I was 6. MechWarrior a few years later when I picked up MechWarrior 2 and MW2 Mercs in a combo pack. Played those games 'til I could run missions blindfolded.

I started slightly late on, in 98 I had a friend whilst living in Florida and got to play TT my freshman year in high school, then moved to Colorado and never got to play again... It was like having a crack addiction and going cold turkey. Since then I have played MW 3/4, and the horrible iterations on XBOX. I have a starter kit for TT with a couple books but nobody that wants to play.

Sometime around mid 90's. It was when I built my first computer when I was but a small child.
