Never mind that the load section is about as user friendly as ObamaCare, but I get an error and it does not tell me what the error is after I change my load out. It lets me save it, but will not let me launch into a match and says I have a critical error. I got back and strip the mech and reload everything and I keep getting the same error.

Check the lower right at the bottom of the Mech for Yellow or Red Triangles, probably a Red one there. Click on it, a window comes up telling you the problem.

Got similar issue here : when wanting to change loadout, especially engine, there is a bug.

Steps to reproduce :
1. Exchange the engine, directly stripping the equipped one with its heatsinks
2. Replace by another engine, then add heatsinks
3. Save loadout
4. Observe engine being replaced by 1 or 2 heatsinks in the centre torso
5. Try to remove bugged heatsinks
6. Observe engine returning in place
7. Save loadout
8. Still bugged, repeat, or
9. Strip mech loadout and rebuild all equipment
10. Save loadout and play
