Why do you doesn´t give MWO the name PPC-Wars Online?
Battletech and Mechwarrior doesnt say you pick up each chassie and equip them with PPC´s only and than bring new player to the ground!
Why i make this topic?
Cause i wanna hear what the Developers say that the PPC´s the Primary Weapons in the game!
Do they not want a Battletech Mechwarrior?
Do they not want a real Mechwarrior Successor?
Or do they not know how to bring more variety to the game?
Do they not want a balanced game?

And I think i´m not the only one who think of this.
We give Piranha so much of our money and what did they do with it?
I doesnt see much more than only bring new mechs and new maps. The Bugs aren´t really done, the weapon balance is only a thing where real battletech lover laught about and where a old mechwarrior player is shaking his head....
I have talked to so many people and we all think the PPC Wars destroyes the game, the Bugs destroy the game, the waiting real Multiplayer destroyes the game...
If piranha doesnt do fast something Mechwarrior Online will be a dead game and not a real MMO Shooter

It focuses on putting a .5 second stall before certain weapons can be fired therefore it spreads out the damage of the high pinpoint alpha that is a problem right now without changing heat, hard points, or armor. Please post your thoughts in the thread.
I havent thought much how my proposal would effect clan mechs, but I believe it would be minimal.

So they might be able to get an extra ton of space, or 5% faster turning radius, or tracking skill or sensor or something. But also a limitation, like you can only pick one, or you overheat slightly quicker with that extra ton optimization. That's just micro-specialization, but some of the options open up possibilities. Jump Jet specialists. Snipers with steady aim. Or laser specialists with pinpoint accuracy specialization, and it translates into control and mech performance effects.
You know there oughta be a place where we could suggest things and know that PGI read them...

maybe i forgot some maybe i gave some more weight - but here they come:
- no convergence - every weapon fired at the same moment with same v0 hit the same spot
- high heat threshhold - allow even to drive a mech without enugh heat sinks to manage them
- those result in front loading damage - Alpha Warrior
- armor values are based on TT - (2d6) - not choose were to hit
- hard points that allow boating
Second its a charged particle beam weapon so where is the beam (no instant hit)
You can keep heat, damage and RoF but reduce the v0 of the projectile
You can give Mechs that have PPCs on stock a bonus - but Mechs that don't have PPCs in stock a penalty.

But you found one of the truth - a weapon might be balanced in every possible mean if you take only one of them - multiple the numbers of a - balanced weapon - and you get something bad.
4MLAS may be fine - but 8 or even 9?
A single AC 20 feels lack lustering - but AC 40 is cheese....

For example a single PPC does 24 heat for firing - but that heat is disspated at high rates - so after 3secs or so there is no heat waste remaining - you only have the 2 heat per second for reloading.
A AC 20 could generate 24 - 32 heat while shooting but generates no heat for reloading.
What will happen is that the game pace is reduced - so you can do some "cosmetic" changes and half damage - for increased rof and reduced heat - so you have lots of shooting an laser salvos zigg zagging all accross the battlefield.
Problem is that ammunition as its actual will not hold for long - so increase the Rof of each cannon by factor 5 for smaller ones and reduce the damage by 4. (AC 20 - 1 shot per sec, 5 dmg on hit -
AC 40 Alpha build gone
maximum of PPCs you can fire at once is 3 (with enough heatsinks and elite skill only) so PPC Alpha Warrior is fixed too.
