Though I'm really not sure this is specific to any chassis. Just not hitting a spider is more detrimental than not hitting most anything else, you have to work hard to hit a spider good.

You have to work on your aim if you want to take out scouts, especially a tiny jump jetting spider in quick order.

However, it is currently the only thing keeping spiders from being WIPED OFF OF THE FACE OF THE PLANET first 1 minute in every game.
Good luck to all Spider pilots (or should I say, future Raven pilots) once hit detection is fixed.

Yep, exactly this.
Spiders currently have what Ravens used to have for hitbox issues. The difference is that Ravens (or at least the 3L) can take a decent weapons payload, which made them lethal with jinky hitboxes, whereas spiders with their one laser are just annoying with wonky hitreg.

But there's something odd about complaining that once in a while your point-and-click instakill doesn't quite work the first time. It's a little... "oh noes, now I shall have to point and click again!". Unless we're talking "I've been pointing and clicking frantically for five minutes and finally got a lucky hit and it didn't register!" but that's generally ranged alphabuilds more than AC/40 in my experience.

The same goes for the Centurion or Trenchbucket , they just have a wack body

but lets be honest, if a spider is facehugging you with his slim body, a AC40 Jäger should not be able to hit with his arm mounted ACs at all due to convergence limits. I know this is not the case, but I would love it to be.
