How many of you, have unloaded your alpha into one of this tricky things and the damage just don't register? I shot more than twice in like 10 games since yesterday AC/40 alpha, and they just stay still getting yellow.... One alpha and they should die...how this things are staying alive?

As a spider pilot, I had a situation where a boomcat unloaded straight into me a few times and didn't hit me. I was legged and directly facing him, and I almost killed him before he did me.

Though I'm really not sure this is specific to any chassis. Just not hitting a spider is more detrimental than not hitting most anything else, you have to work hard to hit a spider good.

Eh.. my experience is that anyone with anything heavy looking myway guarantees a legging. Even if they look at me only for a second(aka as I make cover).

No, its not lag shield, I can see the shot, he even half turns coz of the hit, but the damage, is like I hit him with a medium laser instead of a dual AC/20 alpha....Its juts ridiculous, and yea, once they are legged, all the hits register, so, there is something very wrong about it.

You have to work on your aim if you want to take out scouts, especially a tiny jump jetting spider in quick order.

would lack of convergence be the reason? spider was very close range?

The spider hit detection thing is a thing and its a stupid thing.

However, it is currently the only thing keeping spiders from being WIPED OFF OF THE FACE OF THE PLANET first 1 minute in every game.

Good luck to all Spider pilots (or should I say, future Raven pilots) once hit detection is fixed.

Yep, exactly this.

Spiders currently have what Ravens used to have for hitbox issues. The difference is that Ravens (or at least the 3L) can take a decent weapons payload, which made them lethal with jinky hitboxes, whereas spiders with their one laser are just annoying with wonky hitreg.

Then you`re seeing mostly ECM-spider cheesebuilds, as most spiders can`t even mount one because the energy hardpoint(s) are center torso. :P

I get that it's a bug and all and does, technically, need fixing....

But there's something odd about complaining that once in a while your point-and-click instakill doesn't quite work the first time. It's a little... "oh noes, now I shall have to point and click again!". Unless we're talking "I've been pointing and clicking frantically for five minutes and finally got a lucky hit and it didn't register!" but that's generally ranged alphabuilds more than AC/40 in my experience.

I for one have stopped bothering trying to shoot most (If undamaged) in the torso's and and now always aim for the legs.

The same goes for the Centurion or Trenchbucket , they just have a wack body :P

Hitting legs of a spider is alike of rolling dice. Ever since HSR would decide the output. And it is still buggy. Last time I couldn't even damage lone legged Raven from less than 50m and even upclose (!). About 6 alphas of 30 damage just didn't register on any section of it's body (yet on my screen they were all perfectly landed). So why bother to hit spider, even if it is legged, while you could miss much bigger targets 'cause of HSR...
Yeah, yeah, L2aim...

Perhaps the convergence limits actually do arleady work hahahahahha

but lets be honest, if a spider is facehugging you with his slim body, a AC40 Jäger should not be able to hit with his arm mounted ACs at all due to convergence limits. I know this is not the case, but I would love it to be.
